I felt the same to. By the time I got to legendary the title does not really define my account I don't think. It's a nice bonus to be legendary but at end of day there is nothing extra I was able to do that I could not at Hero status.

So nice bonus yes. Anything different... no besides realizing how long I have spent on board which at this point is a sizable amount of time.
