Do you have any idea how much it would cost to pay a lobbyist and give him the funds he needs do his job? Lobbyists have huge corporations and wealth behind them.

As mentioned on reddit, mastercard now has lobbyists working against bitcoin. A lobbyist would influence key decision-makers who have a say in Bitcoin's fate and would have more impact than any awareness campaign

I would nominate myself to coordinate the effort, but it would probably be better done by a more senior community member.

The Bitcoin Foundation was meant to be doing that job.

I agree, we need a lobby group that works for Bitcoin's interests, not bitpay's (or insert any other big Bitcoin business) interests.
