Rfe8 challenging white for the open file. We need to act quickly and use our development advantage before white can consolidate.

Regarding taking the rook; did b4 and c4 change anything? Haven´t had time to check it and I´m kind of biased by love of that bishop pair.

I think it's as bad as before or even worse, as we let the c-pawn slip through --> one more pawn for him, supported by the b3 bishop and a freed queen

I think he will play Re1 afterwards, but overall I think we should take that e-line with our rooks and then maybe c5

Yes, this line that our partner LHM has above looks pretty good

20.Re1 Rae8 21.Be3 c5 with the idea of Rxe3

He can hardly play 21.d5 because then the knight gets to e5 via d7 which must be good for black.

b4: 7 votes (knightkon, boolberry, galdur, hermesesus, marcus1986, Morecoin Freeman, languagehasmeaning)
Bxe4 : 3 votes (jjacob, shanerc563, XMRpromotions)

Defending our position after Bxe4 will be difficult. We would give white a great center and lose our ability to fight for the open e file. I prefer b4. If white plays 19.c4 we can play Nf6.

One interesting plan is 19.c4 Nf6 20.Re1 Rae8 21.Be3 c5 with the idea of Rxe3

Yes,  absolutely get the e-file. And it´s good to have his rook buried there on a1. So, b4 avoids opening of the a-file.

Bxe4 : 3 votes (jjacob, shanerc563, XMRpromotions)

I wanted to play Bxe4 but changed my mind. I would have guessed that it would have been ahead in the voting.

wow, interesting game.
dont know if i would have been able NOT to take the rook Cheesy
after looking at it for a while i do think it is actually a really bad move Cheesy

yet i dont quite understand his a4. is it a bait for us taking the rook?

i like b4 Smiley

Yeah, bishop, pawn and initiative vs. rook. Bxe4 is no blunder IMO, just not to my liking, think it makes things too comfortable for white.
