I have nothing to hide by changing my IP. My wallat.dat was corrupt so I was unable to auth for a while, hence the nickname changes. I'm not sure if you can see message history on OTC but I never tried to impersonate anyone. Seitsu, my OTC disconnected and when I came back to get your address again I couldn't not find you. In addition to that it's been a busy week. Furrycoat, I'm not sure you can check transaction logs on your prepaid but I suggest you do, I held your card for days and not a dime went missing. As soon as I go missing for three days I'm being accused of scamming half of the OTC?

Some nice progress coming along in the case, honestly though, Liberty Payout has got to be the most idiotic scammer ever. He's scammed thousands of dollars, which is a felony, and does not even cover basic things like IP. Won't be long till the cops come knocking..

Update: I have filed a police report with my county sheriffs office. He seemed hopeful they can get a search warrant for comcast and to give up the IP information. Both his new and old IP (all your aliases on bitcoin-otc don't hide you). It takes a few days for me to get the report and then I will show mtgox.

Liberty Payout , it's not too late to pay back the money owed. Fraud charges on your record is not worth $1000. Think it through.

Jimmysmith isn't who he says he is:

He is saying he is zapsoda on bitcoin-otc but the verified zapsoda denies that's him.

I will confirm with the forums owner, I have already noticed he had registered on it with "Liberty Payout" in the past and already sent an email a few hours ago. I also asked anyone who has ever had him on skype to let me know his skype too.

Edit:

Seems your information is wrong.

http://exchangemoneyforum.com/showthread.php/135359-Need-Buy-Moneypak-URGENT

Here is Kirch123 calling out someone with the verizon4824 yahoo name.

Also Kirch123 is involved with this thread: http://exchangemoneyforum.com/showthread.php/135967-Selling-Moneypak-with-receipts-and-without
In which an associate of Liberty Payout "moneypak" is trying to sell MP and Kirch123 is wary, and then later Liberty vouches for him, saying he made an account for moneypak just to vouch from him.  Then Kirch123 doubts Liberty Payouts vouch : http://cl.ly/image/0M370j3P0m30. If they were the same person why would he do that?  Later on though "Liberty Payout" calls moneypak a scammer on bitcointalk. None the less I added moneypak's skype to see if he will give up any information on Liberty Payout

Furthermore, Joshua Murphy seems to be : http://www.facebook.com/Joshuam319  which indicates he lives in North Carolina according to a lot of sites, thus cannot be Liberty Payout as he lives in the PA/NJ area.

He was impersonating me? friendly.

Anyway, I keep getting messages from people asking me to identify him (at least 5 now) so I'd just like to make this clear
Xoom anonymizes transactions, I have no information to give, sorry!

I have switched the topic to confirmed, albeit I know this means I might not ever get paid by him now unless I involve help, which I plan to do.

He has used the nick Azelphur_ trying to impersonate Azelphur, oddly enough someone he actually did a transaction on XOOM with (source: http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=LRP)

Thus hopefully Azelphur can let me know any identifying information and I can bring him to justice. I know with great certainty his IP is 76.124.34.93 which indicates he is from the Philadelphia/new jersey area as the IP is a comcast IP from a NJ headquarter, and some results indicate PA or NJ from records. He has also indicated he lives in Philadelphia.

I have already contacted comcast but haven't got a reply but I think if I get a court order I can get his information from Comcast, or at least MtGox. MtGox has told me they will give me the details of his account if I got a court order as well.

It would make the court/police proceedings much easier if I just had a name and address to go with, instead of an IP address and internet handle, so hopefully one of his previous customers will raise up and let us know any information so we can proceed to get our money back.

Jeez he sure did cash out. So he made at least 2500$ off scams who knows how much more we dont know about. What a scumbag, I gave him a bitcoin for his "help" before he ripped me off of 500$.

Two days later he starts getting all these bad ratings. He'll probably come back under a new name.

#bitcoin-otc Nick History

You can see his history of names there. Looks like he's too stupid to change his IP address between nick changes, leaving a lot of potentially useful history.

Oh wow.  That's one of those impersonation attempts.  (using a slight variation of a nick of a user with a good trust history).

Unfortunately, I trusted this guy because of his few good ratings (he was using the name LRP at the time, which it turns out is one of many names he uses.) I was new to #bitcoin-otc, and like a complete moron I sent him 73 bitcoins, almost $1000 worth. Should have held out for someone with a better rating.

He claimed on Monday he would be sending the money as cash-in-the-mail to my PO box on Tuesday (yesterday). Still hoping this is all some big misunderstanding and my cash will show up, though very unlikely at this point.

I see a transaction in the #bitcoin-otc Web of Trust (WoT) using Xoom.

That will help provide identity (or lead to more info if further details are needed).
