So the verdict is these units are about half as fast as advertised, correct? And the seller won't except escrow?
Half as fast? He's posted pics showing that show the speeds are way faster than 300kh with the new firmware.
Seller won't except escrow as well.

This is correct. Drfranz is indeed able to compile everything on Raspberry PI and on other architectures. He has patched the buggy code from gridseed github, because their code doesn't work as it is. He uploaded the video on vimeo mentioned in this thread multiple times

The new version of the 6MH and 12MH (ATX case version) are not out yet.
The price for the current round-heatsink version is:
$2750 per 3MH...basically a set of 10 round-heatsink miners, controllerboard, power supplies, cables, USB hub.
For those buying the 6MH, he basically sends you 2X of the 3MH kit.

Half as fast? They run just as fast as advertised and potentially twice as fast with new firmware and possibly more "juice".

From what I have been reading they work as intended. I will know from experience in a week or so waiting form my order. No asiabtc does not accept escrow.

I have a beta unit, and everyone keeps on quoting 7-8 watts running these things on scrypt only. I can not confirm that, mine is pulling 45 watts at 12v 0.62amps from the wall. Now I am not sure if after the new firmware comes out that these numbers can change, but currently I am pulling way higher than 8 watts running one unit. Anyone else with a beta unit? I am curious if yours is also pulling that much. I am using a standard 12v 5amp power brick to power the unit. I can take pictures of the setup if necessary.

Are you they connected to the controller or on your PC? If the latter, minerd activates all BTC cores (no way to turn that off on PC), that's why it draws the same power as in dual mode.
Connected to pc. Now are there any work around to this issue. Is this being addressed when the update comes out, or will this be an issue moving forward. I am sure this question has already been asked but is it possible to use a raspberry pi as the controller to address this issue? Thanks for the info

If you do end up re-wiring your devices using molex connectors and 5v for the fans...so that it runs on a standard PSU please know
Not hard. A Molex Connector is rated for 11 amps, but I would not put more than 4 amps on one, so that is 48 watts. Each unit requires 8 watts, so that is 6 units per molex connector.
Once you have the unit in hand, you can find the right plug size at your local Radio Shack store. You will then have to custom make the power adapters, which only involves A LOT of soldering.
Question: Why not use the PSU and cables that come with the 10/20 unit kits (LA3M, LA6M)? Why do you want to use a standard ATX PSU?
1) I plan to mount the miners in a computer case and it will be easier to mount a standard PSU than the PSU we're getting.
2) The PSUs we're getting only have 12V output afaik. I want to rewire the fans to run on 5V output so they spin slower and quieter.

Couple reasons:
1. I like the idea of a clean single-PSU solution...makes it easier to organize and one less thing to plug into the wall.
2. The PSUs it comes with have open terminals with just a small plastic cover for "safety". I don't like the idea of that.
3. If I can devise a case of somekind for these it would help appearancewise. Saw a guy who stuffed 10 of these in an ATX case and I like the idea of a "clean" build.
I guess I'm a bit OCD and just want things neat and organized. Maybe I should just wait for the 6MH/12MH units as they're supposed to be laid out better and put into standard ATX style tower cases.
