What's the warranty on the LA75M? I can't find any info. Other people also asked this but no answer yet.

I heard 28nm is incredibly hard to produce. It costs something like 5mln usd to make them or something.
It is harder than most people imagine it would be. In theory, you just shrink the circuits. The 28nm **process** is established now (though only a few fabs can do it as I understand, still for those fabs that can do it they don't need anything special especially for a simple ASIC).
However, I have seen many problems in clients who went from 50nm to a smaller process for ASICs. I am not a semiconductor engineer, but the problems I know about include: heat dissipation, electron tunneling (the unintended kind, not just the desirable NPN kind), packaging and mounting (the tiny pinouts are harder to package and mount and sometimes require moving from a pin grid to a ball grid for example), and probably several other issues I haven't seen. These are all solvable, but the problems (often unexpected if the folks designing the ASIC haven't gone through the shrinking process before) can be very time consuming and expensive (and introduce delays). I think the BFL delay (the latest delay at least) was due to heat issues for example.

A lot of rumours going around this 28nm ... like an other big manufacturer came to the point it was a poor 28nm and they will not use it for an in between production run.
People mentioned that Innosilicon hasen't started producton for the A2 till now and those group buys only try to finance the first run.
Did I mentioned the superbe quality of the A1?
