I cannot for the life of me get these to start hashing.

I see the miner on the dashboard but it never actually starts hashing.

 Angry

Did you enter pool details for a SHA256 pool? It will not mine, unless these details are filled in. Even when you disable SHA mining...

Yeah  Undecided How do you enter the details

Ex: (bc.greekpool.eu:3335)

^^^^ is this correct?

Looks right....difference is I put in the protocol prefix:  stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333

I still have trouble getting them to hash on advertised speeds (Wafflepool)

I have 2x 10 miners (not directly aquired from Jack), and i get about 4MH/s TOTAL max.
But, most of the time 2,5-3MH/s.

Some miners never seem to hash.. They stay on 0,0, and only 3 or 4 miners provide me with hash data.
Is this a controller issue (latest RC1 firmware) or power? (Using a spare regular ATX PSU i had)
I also have the other shipped PSU, but i'm not very willing to break the cables/connections to test those..

Thanks,

Andre

I had that same problem....
It seemed that random miners would say "0"
Test them ONE by ONE. I had 3 dead ones out of 20.
Once you remove the dead ones you get no more "0" and the rest hash higher.

Just set the frequency at 600 until you have things worked out. Some of my miners crash and stop working at 850 or 900 frequency.

The settings seem fine. Have you tried any of the other servers? You could also try a regular (non-multi) pool, just to see whether it works.

Also, how long did you wait? With some of the multipools it can take several hours before your stats show up. (I have no experience with wafflepool).

A 100mbit connection should be fine.

I'll try that later tonight. Well, i tried Middlecoin and a  Doge pool, but profits were a bit low. Also, a Multipool is simpler to setup.
I ran Middlecoin last night on 1x 10 miners.. Got about 3x less than on the other miner pointing to Waffle. So switched back.

Was told Middlecoin improved back to 0.015/Mhs.. Not so much..

Well, i check both the controller and the Wafflecoin stats an hour on so later. I'll try to keep it up a day, hopefully it will pick up.

If you have them in LTC only mode, that power supply will probably be fine.

Have you tried running less miners? Say 5 or 10? 20 is a lot for a single controller. Also, at what frequency have you set the miners? A very high frequency could cause some of them to stop working.

LTC only, 10 miners a controller. Freq: 900, but i tried all..

Any special settings needed for Wafflepool?
I have: stratum+tcp://eu.wafflepool.com:3333, my BTC address, x as password (tried d=128, etc as well, no change), 900 or lower freq.

Does the ethernet connection play a factor in this? I used an 100/100 switch because my 1000mbps router has no ports left. (Well, for 1 miner, not 2)

Is anyone using these for both BTC and LTC ? If so what are your settings ? I am currently able to achieve the 10 GH/s per  grid seed resulting in a total of 100 Gh/s but unable to  get above 102 kh/s .  Currently running at 850 Mhz .

Any help is appreciated

Try at 800 or 750

Ok will give that a try now

Wow that really made a big difference, running close to advertised. Will leave it to sit overnight.

Which did you go for? 800?

I wanted to try to over clock as much as possible, but I want to have both scrypt and sha256 mining  stable. When i was using 850 mhz I only got 104 kh/s. As soon as i changed it to 800 mhz , scrypt and sha256 mode is much more stable.

Have you had luck with higher clock ?

I'm using 800 right now. I think its too early to say anything definitively and I'm sure each miner is different (normal variance in electronics).
I have a hunch that these units will be show better performances after they have had some time to burn in. My units have only been running for 36 hours or so, i have already seen the stability improve as time has gone on. Hopefully the hash will improve with time and FIRMWARE (hint hint Jack)

No issues running them at 900?

The first day, one went offline and had to be power cycled. After that, they seem fine. I do not have an easy way to track controller resets.

I see firmware for the miners themselves. Was a new firmware released for the controllers ?

Any help is appreciated.

My Gridseed Controller Ver. B. came in dead.  Cannot get it to power up with anything, basically no lights, no network connectivity, etc.  Temporarily trying to get a Beaglebone Black up and running but have a feeling it is going to be a lot more of a pain than I think.
