It is not intended to stand alone, it deliberately is created by making use of as many free open source software systems as possible, the intention is to alter their code as little as possible, and ideally even to have any code changes needed take place upstream so that it is not necessary to modify the existing software systems again and again each time we upgrade to a newer version of an upstream system.

Thus ideally it is mainly content that we need to develop, although sometimes maybe upstream developers might not approve of how we are using their system enough to incorporate needed changes.

An example of a desired change is the fact the Freeciv civilisation game only deals with one planet, thus has no facility for exporting units so they can move from one world to another.

For now we just shut down both worlds and run scripts on the savegame files to remove units from one world and insert them into another, but eventually it would be nice if the units could move from one running world to antoher without needing to shut down the worlds during the transit of the units.

Another thing that would be nice would be fixes to the "permadeath" system in Crossfire RPG, it has a permadeath config setting but that setting is not supported and maybe even deprecated, so it has some horrible holes in it such as the fact that when a character permadies any player can create a character of the same name, thus inheriting the character if someone casts ressurection on its corpse to bring it back to life.

Hopefully though the changes desired will remain small enough that eventually they can be accomplished right in the mainstream releases of the software systems we use, so that we can keep up with development of the upstream without getting bogged down in a whole mess of problems involving patching each new version over again and such.

Currencies and corps are integral to the Galactic Milieu, with the main place where "the rubber hits the road" being the corp known in the game as "General Holding Corp" and outside the game as "General Hosting Corp".

GHC is basically the fulcrum of the game's funding, functioning by charging civilisations hosting fees based on the eventual long term needs while currrently not having nearly as much in actual costs due to not yet actually hosting the full level of detail the long term plans call for. (Such as full 3D immersive representations using things like OpenSimulator.)

This may initially sound as if the civilisations are paying way more than cost for the hardware infrastructure upon which the game runs, but really it just motivates the civilisations to own shares of GHC, so that they actually like the fact that GHC makes a profit by charging fees in excess of its costs.

The currencies are also integral to the game, because the conversion rates shown at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/latestrates.inc are used by GHC to allow the civilisations to pay the fees in any of the listed assets.

The same conversion rates table is also used by the Deuterium depots that both General Mining Corp and General Retirement Funds maintain in the inner layer of defense galaxies surrounding the galaxies in which the civilised worlds reside, so the intergalactic mining corps can sell Deuterium, and sometimes also Metal and Crystal, against any of these assets, subject of course to availability of the asset (a depot cannot pay in an asset its mother Corp does not own, and mining corps who are still paying off their startup loans are of course credited in the currency their loan is denominated in, against their loan.)

So yeah, these currencies and assets are totally integral to the game, ultimately they are how the game development and hosting and bandwidth and so on are financed.

Also, conversion to and from fiat currencies tends to be handled within the clan / guild / etc (groups) systems within the game, so that for example Brits (members of Britclan) wanting to convert United Kingdom Britcoins to or from the British fiat of the planet known as Earth would do so through the clan officers of Britclan, Canucks wanting to convert Canadian Digital Notes to or from the CAD fiat of the planet known as Earth would do so through the clan officers of the Canuck clan and so on.

The problem is there you only get it as in-game currency that maybe improves payments to games, but games that require payments are lame, it would make adoption easier, but it wouldn't improve games much.
It would be better to use the game-theory aspects of crypto currencies in games, not just the economic function. For example Eve online could use crypto to sell their own PLEX (the currency that you need for subscription that is also an ingame currency) and enabling users to perhaps mine some on some rare places, making an economic interest points where wars would be more common, or you create your own currency when you make a corp and see it rise in value when your corp increases in power...
Things like that not, beat 3000 guys in bejewled and get 1 btc free with thousands of BTC commercials exploding in your head.

Games such as Call of Duty, Titanfall, and other FPS ones should be included in the crypto world. Perhaps, one crypto (maybe Hyper) could be integrated with such games to increase popularity and awareness of people to get into cryptos (especially Bitcoin) That way, mainstream adoption would be faster than you could think of. There's been 3 gaming cryptos that I've been keeping my eye on and those are: Hyper, Gamecredits and GoldPieces. 

The problem is that the game would have to be good on its own, and use crypto to add to it, not to promote the currency. The games that now exists get no added value to the game from crypto, and the crypto gets none from the game, if I ever get the chance to create a game, this will be the first thing to consider. I think there is a lot of potential here, and maybe with indie devs getting more success we might even see something good.

Thats not specifically what I asked for, I didnt asked for promos/giveways/tournaments/festivals that give away X altcoin for a task or event.

I specifically want a list of altcoins that can be obtained by playing the game inherently. I mean as if the game is built on that cryptocurrency, not just as a giveaway promotion event or whatever.

For example as SecondLife uses it's own currency LDollars, just as it would be nice to see a crypto game using it's own cryptocurrency.

I'd never thought that you could earn Digibyte by playing League of Legends. This is new to me. I'll check it out. Thanks for sharing this, mate!

I would definitely test out such a game, i always wanted a game like that since I was a kid, so i`ll become a nerd if that comes out.

It is really time to do such games, i dont like Second Life, it is too dull, but a game based on cryptocurrencies, could change the whole humanity.

Imagine playing the game and working inside the game, and then with the money you earn you would live your real life, it would be amazing

Don't forget the Galactic Milieu, which is still heading toward using Open Transactions to enable players running civilisations to make the markets, banks and stock exchanges in the cities they build into actual functioning markets, banks and stock exchanges.

See http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html for the assets so far enabled on the Digitalis Open Transactions Server which is the prototype server where currently all the assets are processed until an "Open Transactions for Grandmas" is completed which will be easy enough to set up and use that it will become practical for players to set up servers representing the markets, banks and stock exchanges located within the cities they build in their civilisations.

The long term plan is, on the functional side, to eventually have such servers spawned automatically whenever markets, banks or cities are built, and on the costmetics side to use Open Simulator to generate three dimensional immersive virtual reality representations of the game, so eventually people will be able to walk their virtual reality avatar into a virtual market bank or stock exchange in a particular virtual reality city on a particular virtual reality planet and so on...

Well i`m not a gamer and i havent been in the loop for some time.

I`m just looking for opportunities to invest in, and gaming based cryptos have a big opportunity in my view.

There’s been another gaming crypto currency which you can obtain by gaming (just like Hyper) It’s called Gamecredits. This one is under constant development and its games look interesting. You should check it out! This one is not new but it sure is promising.
