Seems unusual, there is net buying of gold every year because of central banks replacing dollar debt. I'd far rather be bullish technology or actual real products but to short gold means long dollar and thats the wrong way round in terms of supply and demand seems very likely to me. Of course we can fall on shorter time frames, we have done since last years summer so not arguing trades here really.
Invest means deploy capital to me where as that outline sounds like speculative trades which is something else. Markets have come to view both similarly but I still regard them separate, opposite even sometimes as lower price is not a negative to invest.
