I was wrong, I admit it. Although we currently maintain a healthy 0.028 ratio, it touched 0.022 momentarily as panic selling took place.
Now that ltc/btc 0.03 gave in, and btc price approached and bounced off 100-day MA, but without any special vigor, there is a likelyhood that btc could still break below 100-day MA ($437 as of today) and approach 200-day MA in January, which should be around $300 in 2-3 weeks, dragging with it the ltc/btc ratio, likely to 0.02 or even 0.015. LTC sure does depend on BTC price, but recently has seen developments of its own, enabling it hopefully not to fall below 0.02.
However, and this is a very small chance, but still, if BTC falls below 200-day MA (below $300), then cryptos in general have a few months of bear market, then ltc/btc could re-test 0.01 again.

I agree, but this is likewise for any crypto coin, they all are adversaries of the official fiat currencies equally.
It looks like while Bitcoin is dropping, altcoins also drop vs. bitcoin, making them a worse currency to hold on than Bitcoin, once again.
If you know exactly what you're doing, some alt-coins are better for trading than bitcoin.
If you have no clue, then sure, stay away from trading, and from trading bitcoin too.
