It will be so so glad and very very amazing if Litecoin can hit $5000 in this year (2018). But, what can make the price of Litecoin so high increasing? Well, it is just a prediction. I personally feel doubt for this situation. Yeah I believe that Litecoin price will rise, but not reaching $5k.
Obviously this is a joke. Almost all coins dropped to freezing point in 2018.
It will need more time to reach that hype. I think you have a lot of Litecoin as your investment and you don't know what will be its future that't why you created this thread. it will be a loooong waiting before Litecoin beat Ethereum man.
In my opinion, alternative cryptography really will grow in price, because they are very much used. 
Litecoin to cross 500 usd is already very bullish. So If it will cross 5000 or even reach half of that amount that would definitely be a bull run for the crypto currency. And its already half of the year 2018 so I dont think it will ever happen. but who knows, may be in the end of the year bull run will start again.
I'm quite doubtful if the Litecoin can hit over $5000 in 2018. Litecoin and other altcoins are still following the price of BTC. Now, they are all dropping. I know that there are still several months to the end of this year. But, I think it is very difficult to reach that price.
If the situation on the market does not change, Litecoin will hardly reach a hundred this year. Honestly, I do not think it will ever cost 5 thousand. This cryptocurrency is good but it will be not too expensive.
So I have taken notice of this "coinbase effect" and I really believe that it is true. I think that people are downloading coinbase, seeing how high BTC is, and deciding to invest into LTC and ETH instead. I am NOT saying that these coins will pass BTC in any way, but I do think that LTC and ETH will be in the 4-10 thousands next year for sure. I think this is very hard to happen because LTC isn' t like bitcoin , it's not yet expressed base on. To talk about the order of the order , ETH has a lot more potential than LTC , but ETH's price was just stopped at $1000. It is not gonna happen in 2018 for Litecoin to grow to that figure. Trading as low as below $200 today, $5000 is certainly not realistic in the next 1, 2, or even 3 years. LTC still has a long way to go.
Almost half of 2018, Bitcoin fall to $6000 Litecoin somewhere around $70-100. Anyone still has hope for Litecoin more the $1000 this year?
We have here, bitcoin fell to 6,000. Not one forecast did not come true that did last year. Vice versa all just changed and dropped in price. This year we should not expect anything good from crypto currency. It will be very difficult to recover from such a fall.

It is too far from reality. litecoin is indeed the old coins that have potential, but because of all the crypto was falling this year including it was litecoin then to reach a price of as high as I thought it would be hard to altcoin themselves. litecoin can only shine for this year but certainly be waiting for the increase of the bitcoin myself also.

I'm pretty sure litecoin will not cost 5000$ this year. Ltc is stable enough coin and increases its value without sudden jumps. Now the price of a token is $100 and there are no prerequisites for its 50 times increase.
the way on how litecoin may increase for are very small and this is not taking to be boom the price of it that is why if there us a possibility about this currency it would take some time but yes litecoin are some of the currency that are stable on its price.

So sorry, but I don't think so that Litecoin will hit around $5000 in this year. The price of altcoins is now mostly dropping. It is very not easy for the coins to raise their price in the very high price only in few months. Moreover, Litecoin is less popular than Bitcoin very much. I don't think it will be.
