I feel that $ return on LTC from here will be higher than BTC. I'm spreading 50/50. LTC more risk but greater returns.

Well the confirmation time is shorter which is a plus
I think litecoin more faster than bitcoin if about confirmation,
Sometimes I took 15 minutes or more to get 1 confirmation when sent bitcoin

i think if you want to compare litecoin you should compare with other altcoin like XMR,Stellar,Doge etc
if comparing bitcoin and litecoin, then the difference is so far

I dont really see Litecoin as bitcoin competition, i think they're too similar (from what little i have learned over the past few weeks)
but i dont see no reason why the two cannot healthily coincide together.

In fact, I've been contemplating making a purchase of some litecoin =)

Litecoin has a great volume market, but very small compared to bitcoin. Bitcoin will loose against bitcoin in all its marks.

Litecoin needs new development and more marketing to become successful. Even still, it might survive because it is one of the oldest alt coins out there and Bitcoin's brother. Maybe a Litecoin 2.0 would be a great idea.  Roll Eyes

What is there to develop in Litecoin itself though? The main part of it was that it was supposed to have more frequent block times and uses Scrypt, but that's just so plain now. A Litecoin 2.0 would probably not even be looked at as well. The only thing that could save it would be large Litecoin ecosystem developments, but still...

If it ever comes down to litecoin v. Bitcoin, Bitcoin will win. It was the first ever coin and the most traded. Litecoin is there as an alternative only.

I think LTC will serve as a backup for bitcoin, and it will stay here long term.

If something happens to BTC, LTC will take its place.

However I still think NXT has better future than LTC.
That's not possible.LTC can never back up Bitcoins.
No Cryptocurrency can be better than bitcoins.

I think if something happens to BTC, LTC will suffer too because they are very similar in technology, in fact LTC is just a fork. The are not different enough to serve as a real safe haven in case BTC enters some sort of fatal error (which is not going to happen anyway, not realistic enough of a situation).

litecoin is always there behind bitcoin,
so I think when something happens on bitcoin, LTC is also affected,
LTC will not be able to takeover bitcoin

Litecoin still has a value? Last time I checked it was slugging along struggling to scrape what you could classify "survival" along with the slump in BTC price. I don't recommend you get involved in Litecoin over Bitcoin, it's pretty bad now.
yeah of course still have value, now price of ltc is 0.01/btc
LTC ever reached the price of 0.006 / BTC
but can survive until now, I know LTC is the biggest coin after bitcoin

I don't think that litecoin has a great future like bitcoin. Bitcoin is more popular than litecoin and has a great market cap and the users of bitcoins are increasing rapidly and the value is also going higher and higher. Comparatively litecoin is difficult to trust and don't think that it can compete with bitcoins So bitcoins is the better option to go for.

some people trust Litecoin is like a silver and bitcoin like gold
but so many other currency, XMR, Stellar, Doge , etc.
so in future litecoin can dead and other currency will replace litecoin
I can't equate with bitcoin, because of course litecoin would be lost,
true litecoin like a silver, and bitcoin as gold
I have not thought litecoin was going to die, until now ltc has a great value

But why? What is the point of having Litecoin as a "silver"? It's not like silver where it actually has uses as an alternative, Litecoin is basically just a clone that no-one has any real need for due to the existence and divisibility of Bitcoin.
