The LTC network difficulty is set to take a -18% change in 2 days.

Somebody big (KNC ?) just turned off some machines.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/difficulty

Problems with cryptocurrency start reveal itself, when price going down in the result of decreased hash rate, but LTC price is stable for now...so nothing terrible happened Smiley

Litecoin is still one of the oldest altcoin, it has many strong supporters and good community, so the price could be maintained.

Yeah. I'm utterly befuddled by all this difficulty drop for ltc myself. Perhaps all Titans have an end of life date from purchase date and are in order bricking themselves. Hmmmm it is KNC and they are the Mordor of ASIC companies.

Hmmmm

Looking at the previous 24-hour volume, for example, shows that nearly three billion CNY has been changing hands to buy and sell Litecoin. Ethereum, on the other hand, has only seen 1.8 million CNY change hands, which is only a blip on the radar in comparison.

LTC dominance in China isn't surprising given that it isn't regarded as an altcoin there. In fact, the Western obsession with Bitcoin Maximalism and Satoshi Nakamoto is met with confused derision: "Litecoin is technically superior and takes Satoshi out of the equation... therefore it is the greater currency."

i dont see that happening... btc just had a big pump and ltc is already back to 850k-, if bitcoin retrace to 480~500USD imagine what will happen to ltc.

I've already sold all ltc.. made some profit and moved on.

You should have wait. Chinese they say will pump it. They like litecoin.

ltc is joke coin, the title of this thread is funny because its a fantasy

Seems like the most populous nation on Earth thinks otherwise:-

Litecoin Is Far More Popular Among CNY Traders Than Ethereum

Whereas the markets don't. ETH is just expanding into CNY. LTC has been the worst shitcoinage for at least 2 years now.

The litecoin price is rising steadily, almost in line with the bitcoin. So there is a possibility that it will be $10 this year.
I dont think that will happen, litecoin is in big struggling and the popularity keep on decresing, many people said that litecoin wont last long again, so i think you better find other currency to invest

Anyone can tell me what is the LTC mining price if electricity costs USD 0.11/Kw ?

I use this it is pretty close (3 titans 1 orig (ouch) 2 used)

www.litecoinpool.org/calc *you don't have to be part of the pool use the calculator link*

I've also used litcoinpool.org since November 2014 with original Titan....no fees and pays at 103% on top of that.

An example

a 350 mh Titan at say (WITH 3rd party Tarky Titan energy saving firmware) of 1,250 watts..(ie most titans would be less then FULL out at this 350mh speed but lets say you are lucky)
and this is at the current (now) LTC rate of  $4.60 usd

at 11c kwh you would get the below from the above calculator link again with above info

30 days   109.93930664 LTC   505.72 USD Total        99.00 USD   Electric Costs  406.72 USD Profit after electric

as an example (my Titan units) at 14c kwh and 1,000mh at $4.60 per usd and 4100 watts I get

30 days   314.11230469 LTC   1444.92 USD Total       413.28 USD Electric Costs          1,031.64 USD Profit after electric

as you can see my 14c kwh price for electric is high...so I'm always confused when I see folk selling their Titans. (Then again that was a couple weeks ago not seeing a lot of sales now)

anyway I'd guess folk in Oregon (3c kwh) and Texas (4c kwh) are just "killing' on these units...my strategy is to keep them running till this winter for heat (heated 85% of house last year on 630mh) and also the electric rate goes down from 14c kwh to 10c kwh....was kinda wondering if that would work....again...into the Winter of 2017...but at these prices ...looks good...in gas (budgeted at 12 month)  and the 14c to 10c kwh electric reduction (6 months) I tripped over with the utility..(xcel) that is 1,280 bucks savings a year....only angle I have with keeping those units here and not selling them to those guys in Oregon (3c kwh) and Texas (4ckwh) folk....is the reduction in electric costs for 6 months and Winter almost free heat Smiley

anyway enjoy the calculator Smiley

Crypto-News.net: News from Crypto World
With capital controls and devaluation coming out of China, the top two legit cryptos still have plenty of room for growth. And traditionally, ltc follows btc and then some during bull rallies - not to mention a halving looming for big daddy.

i expect that to in past ltc always followed btc in everything so i have high hope for this i dont think we can see new high for ltc but some good price we might expect from this

LTC is up to 3 quid.

We just have to benchmark it to BTC.
For a long time, it hovered around 0.01 BTC before crashing. Now it seems to be getting there again.
