i have never seen anywhere in the world where the "bank lady" puts your belongings in your safety deposit box, it was always your task to place them inside the box which you have the key to access it!
and i believe there are far more valuable things in those boxes than your paper wallet!

by my experience, safe deposit box usage is strictly private thing after the personel at bank opens their lock. after that they walk out until you are finished with unlocking your lock,
placing whatever u needed to store there, and locked it again. so your story is shady at best, or you dont know how to handle the procedure.
at no point ever was i forced to show what i was storing.
