You have no collateral, zero, zip, zilch. If it's not worth anything to the lender then it's not collateral. If you haven't been able to sell it in the last year of trying, then it's not collateral. English is hard, I know.

there is no point in entering into any kind of discussion with him. He has been asking for a loan for years, although he has received an answer and explanations countless times.
btw. His collateral is some kind of story about the iPhone that he has and he can provide evidence about it. He thinks that holding something worth more than $500 in his hand is enough to get a loan here.
