On basically indeed a loans it's can invite a risk, because we will feel indebted and should be able to pay off that loans as we can and if we can't pay it of course it will be at risky. It's a good we've to really take into account in advance if we want to borrowing a money or bitcoin or whatever it is, so as not to harm and feel burdened by that loans.
There is only little risk on us who borrows money and when we borrow that means we really need money on a more important things or to solve the problem. It's not wise to borrow money to use for entertainment or to gamble and for lenders if there is no collateral they have to conduct an investigation to determine where would the money will go but since we are online it seems it's hard to investigate. Most lenders are only counting on the collateral and they didn't realize it's not really valuable at all, but they can minimize the risk if they will limit the loan and spread the loan.

I know that people give out loans but what's up with people no returning what they borrowed?? I want to know this because I might give out loans myself and I want to know what to watch out for... I have ~800 BTC at the moment and would it be a bad idea to start loaning? I bought my BTC back in 2010 mid August January(when it was about $0.07 per BTC) and I noticed the price went up a ton! Also what would be some other way to grow my BTC? Any ideas on what I should do?

Something I should have added my friend was doing something you guys call "mining" I am very knew to the bitcoin world even though I have had them for a long time. I bought these bitcoin from him because he needed to sell them, my financial advisor has told me that the longer I wait the more return I would get so I told him hold the account for 5 years and ill see where I am... So last July I had gotten my account back, did a bunch of research then found you guys. So I came here to post a few posts and for everyone skeptical this is the proof https://gyazo.com/ee99cef712e9b72f03a3e8e870c33624

Staying away from the lending bitcoin is first step. Next is not to gamble it. With 800 BTC just HODL them some where safe like hardware wallet kept in Uncle scrooge's locker. Wink You could earn or increase them if you know some trading. Given the situation you have capitol worth $3,432,000, you could play with market. Create pump and dump for short amount of time and gain more coins. Don't do pump and dump. Ignorant people will loose their money.
In order to create a pump such quantity of bitcoins is too low. additionally, users already experienced. When a pump everyone who has the ability to buy coins. When you try to create a pump that you can just cheap to sell their coins and it's all over for you. It seems to me that more profitable to invest part of the coin mining hardware.

Both parties are at risk. Lender is at risk of lending BTC to a defaulter even if the borrower offered a collateral, that collateral maybe stolen or value may depreciate after a few days like Altcoin. For borrowers, they are also at risk if they offered a collateral if the lender run away with the collateral specially lenders ask for collateral's that are valued 120% higher than the borrowed amount.

For me Loans are really too risky.
Most of borrowers trying to not pay or cannot pay. I saw most of them are gamblers thats means most of them are losers. So loans are too risky and too profitable Smiley
Yeah it happens because no one is aware of the future now. No one knows what will happen to him in the future will he be able to pay the loan or not so it is the best thing to invest your money and not t borrow anything from any one,. The best for the future of the person is the time to make income and to get the high profit. People are using bitcoin and they are earning from it now for the bright future and the security of the money so the investment is good but try to avoid the loans.

True, the loan is too risky, so we do not ever when the loans do not really need, better manage the finances properly so we do not get stuck to use the services of the loan.

I think loan is not that risky because it what the borrower want to use the loan that matters. If the borrower is going to use the loan for a done deal, I guess loan collected in such case will yield a nice profit.

No its too risky for both parties but in most cases the one who are giving loans are at a disadvantage. what do you mean by done deal because it doesn't matter how the

borrower wants to do with his loan, it doesn't guarantee that he will pay back. if you want to minimize its risk you have to make collaterals a must for every borrower so that in

case he didn't get to pay, you have something greater in return. And for the borrower, to make sure your collateral is safe have someone trusted to hold it for you e.g. escrow

It is really risky if you don't have security to protect what you have. If you want to give loans to someone, you have to background check that person and you should have something that they own in case if the borrower cannot pay you back. But the best way is to give loans to those people whom you knew personally. At least you have an assurance that they will pay their loans to you since you knew them.

Recently i found waves and you can lease= lend yours coins without them left the wallet, even the income  not being very high yet since its a brand new feature and the coin is still growing slowly, it does shows anybody even if margin trades and lending ends at the exchanges you will have a safe place to make money without expose too much at risks. At this forum there are few people working with it as well, charging their own interest, and in the general they are able to keep their business and make profit with those service they provide, even being a bit risked.

Certainly! Should this deter you from such investments? I do not think so. The fact is that there are always risks, just as there is always potential. But think about this:
If you avoid the risks of crypto currency, what risks do you choose? In what will your money be? Maybe you do not make savings at all and immediately put everything on a beautiful life one day ... Even then your financial risks will not go away anywhere - moreover, you only increase the chance to stay at the broken trough. Unfortunately now people are more accustomed to making debts than investments, so many of those who seem rich lives actually are poorer than the last vagabond - at least there is no debt. It is necessary to make savings and it is necessary to do them wisely.

yeah for me it is way too risky since with loans i may get rid of a great deal of income to be honest

It's risky if you are not going to pay the loan, the money that you will borrow. There's no risk at all on this thing if you are the borrower but the risk will be burdened by the lender himself.  And it's up to you on whom you are going to take the loan as a borrower and whom you are going to lend your money as a lender. This is a good business as the banks are surviving by this type of service.
i think borrowers and lenders are equally at risk, borrowers will risk the more interest they will pay and penalties when they late to pay, whereas lenders will risk losing their money when the borrower is lost and not returning, so if you're a lenders then it would be better if you give a loan to people who have a trusted and have a name only, it is just to reduce risk, btw loan is a profitable business for lenders

Yes, giving a loan is super risky if you don't take any collateral from him/her. They need some responsibility to take her collateral back so they have to pay the debt at the right time. Basic rule if you want to open a loan services. No Collateral no loans.

Their is risk on both parties namely the lender and borrower. For borrower,it is the interest makes the borrowed money larger as time passes by they dont pay it in whole. While for lender, it is the assurance that the borrower could pay the borrowed money or the borrower wont get away with their money.

Well, loans is a dangerous business. When people can't pay his loans back, you can't do anything because he doesn't have any money though. But with a good collateral, you still can run the loans business. If i were you i will try to avoid this kind of business, it's better to use your ~600btc into trading or invest on ico which is more worth.
That would be nice if you have a lending business in the real world as you can investigate your borrower about his capacity to pay. However if it's gonna online then for sure it will create bigger risk, and normally to minimize the risk you spread the loan and increase the interest rate but it's a hard job since you have to actively monitor the loan status in order for you to be profitable in the end.

Forget about loaning your bitcoin you are probably only going to lose your bitcoin especially if we take into account the big amount that you say you have, loaning is not such a big business if what you really want is to get an even greater amount of bitcoin then your only option is to invest in different altcoins and even in some promising icos that are available at the moment.
