Slowly but surely. Just wait it out. That is what I do but if I'm in a hurry, I will add a significant amount of fee for it to confirm faster. $1-$3 fee in bitcoin is OK for me.

So i sent abother 2.22 BTC via mt Multibit wallet and it's the same !!!
WHY...It was always 30-40mins !!!
it's fair takes time to confirm because it is not just you who do bitcoin transactions and I think it was quite fast. Several threads revealing the same information but on several requirements of transactions were running parallel. At least you can be happy because you've got confirmed in 30-40 mins though you have paid small fee. yeah. in my point of view, waiting for 30-40 minutes for confirmation is not a long time. because I have ever had to wait for an hour to get confirmation, but it is also not a long time rather then those who need a day or two to get confirmation.
if the wallet address was right, it's just the good and old queue.

if you paid 50k~100k satoshi fee, you'll probably have too wait a lot...

confirmed in 30-40 minutes is lucky enough with low fees get confirmation on that time, in my side i should give more fees to get fast confirmation and sometimes although i have give big fees my transaction still get confirmation at long time and when i try with low fees i get confirmation at around 24 hours :-/ but not always, my transaction with low fees usually get confirmation around 1 hours
