Definitely that is true, without a goal in gambling would make us greedy, and even if we are winning but we do not have a certain goal to achieve then we will continue to play and would only stop when we lose in the end.

Yes don't waste your coins save it in your wallet in future it will help you. Because now Bitcoin price is high so in coming days may be it will increase more than this so save your bitcoins. According to me what OP is going to tell means he was buying every month same amount of coins to play gambling. but he never made profit from that he just play it for his fun.
