Only bitcoin I can keep for now, yeah I'm open to some competitive altcoins like ETH, monero, dash and etc., maybe if I have more time for them. Cyrpto currencies are really good for long term investments especially if you are aware and always updated on current trends.

How many fucking "what should I buy" threads need to be made?  You're just going to get biased and crap-ass answers.  People are going to tell you to buy whatever it is they want to dump on you.  Do you not see that?  Don't buy any of this shit.  If it ain't bitcoin, stay faaar away.

For me, I am holding Time and ICN because both tokens have a plan to pay dividends for holders, this may cause the price increasing by the time. We Trust looks promising as well. ICN is almost ×3 of ICO price in few months.

Because of the volatility of the the cryptocurrencies I would advise to carefully check the coin before investing in long term. Questions to ask:

1.) Team behind the coin
2.) New technology introduced
3.) Progress in terms of introducing the new technology (significant new clients for example)
4.) Road map

Then you can see if it's worth to invest. To sum up get any possible information before investing

Bitcoin, Nexus, Unitas.

after the hardfork issue resolves bitcoin would hit 2,000usd and upwards easily. Nexus and Unitas are solid coins with good fundamentals and are undervalued considering their huge upside

I think only BTC is suitable for long term investments.
Well, maybe a Ethereum too.

I wouldn't recommend hodling anything for years but I'm going long term on:

bitbay - D Zimbeck has already created the product and has a roadmap. Knowing how this coin started I think it says a lot for the integrity and talent of the guy that he stuck around so people wouldn't lose money on it.

nxs - if vector space systems get their cube sats up and the pr machine takes over this could be life changing stuff.

xrp - ripple's partnership with the banks (in japan and england) could raise this a lot higher than it is.

also holding various amounts of:

nem
nxt
ardr
eth

It's never good to buy and hold an altcoin for long term investment, eth even though is not safe to keep it more than 1 year. However they're still an alternative coin to buy that can't be aligned to bitcoin. I don't said altcoins is not good to invest, but it's better to trade it for short time at least weekly or monthly than keep it for years.

do not take the advice of someone who has the coin they nominate in their signature.

do your own research and decide for yourself. hardly anyone is gonna give you an unbiased opinion here.

yes i have an idea that why not just buying bitcoin and hold it because i believe bitcoin will survive for next 3 years
and regarding the price also most people says it will reach to the moon so what are you waiting for

It's only worked for those people who "believe" if bitcoin will be survive for the next 3 years and they don't need any money again and keep re-buying  bitcoin. Do you have idea how unpatience people are? When the price was reached $1250, they are dumped their bitcoin because they are scared if bitcoin price will fall again (It happened now)
Investing in altcoins in 3 years is too long, but it's really worth if the price increased a lot. My suggest just invest max in a year for altcoins, and only invest in altcoins which have potential.

i don't think long term makes any sense regardless of the coin. it's all moving so fast. who knows what'll be around in a few years?

the people who lose out are the ones who form an emotional attachment to a project and sit there forever when it's clearly going to oblivion. forget that. ride the pumps and move between them. it doesn't matter what coin it is. the people pumping them don't care.

Iconomi might be worth taking a look at too. By investing in it, you are essentially betting that crypto will keep growing and that over time, more traditional investors are going to want a way to easily buy into crypto without having to manage their own assets. It's definitely a multi-year investment as there will not be much real value until many users use Iconomi and a steady flow of dividends come in. But it has the potential to go to $500 million or more if the dividends are high.

Augur is very interesting because it is trying to create decentralized prediction markets, which is actually very important for making information more efficient. I expect a $300 million market cap or larger.

Monero is a safe choice and will probably grow steadily as well over the next few years. It has many tech innovations (mainly anonymity) to make it possibly even better than bitcoin.

If you want more risky investments, Burst seems undervalued ($2.3MM market cap) for having good tech innovations (e.g new mining algorithm based on storage) and has a small, but active community. I think it can easily grow 2-5x its current value.

Disclaimer: I am invested in both Iconomi and Burst.

Any ideas what to buy now and keep for longer ? (1-3yrs) ?  Grin

Buy few Moneros. Dont exaggerate.

3 years from now there will be daily mined around 1300 Moneros, what is 4 times less then now. At that time Monero infrastructure will be build close to what is Bitcoins now. And you will be able to send them anonymously to whoever you will want.

Buy few since you will need them.
