Short term is more profitable than longer term base from my experienced. But the downside is that you have to monitor the coin you are invested to 24/7 so that you will know every thing that happens to it if everything went south.

Hello my dear Bitcoin brothers.

I would like to ask you about your experience with day/swing trading vs. long term investing and also,
what was more profitable for you and what are pros and cons for both ways of trading?

This question interests me since market is very volatile and it can get quite easy to exploit daily range for a quick small profit.

Thank you fellas.

In my opinion, for people who have less investment money, it is better to invest in some altcoins for a longer period of time or if they can trade on the market.
The crypto market is very good for this purpose due to its high volatility.

Both actually works in bitcoin. Trading your investments for a certain period of time works as long as you know the best moment to trade. Investing for a longer time works too as well so as long as the investments does not steadily decline its value....

First off, i am not a trader myself, Not that i don't like it but because i am really bad at it. I am more of bounty campaigns and long term investment. For me, such ways are more convenient and seems manageable, a bit less complicated so to speak. When it comes to profits, i gain more in long term although it may take me some time to enjoy my earning but its okay with me.

This is a very good question.First i would comment on long term investment.Simply those investors who invested in 2016 or in the beginning of 2017 and held their investment, they received highest return over their investment because they did not sell their investment when BTC going under dip and waited for pump up time and sell their investment when BTC reached to top height $20783.For long term investment you have to maintain your courage and continuously keep eye on Coin market cap.You will get reward more than your expectations.

2nd part is short term investment those who invested for short term lets suppose those who bought BTC early in Jan-18 suppose on $13000 and sold their investment on 6th Feb-18 when BTC price reached to $5984 so they got disappointed and sold their investment with loss.

So long term investment is highly preferable in BTC.

Short term investing is for people who can spend more time on this. For people like me with full time jobs, long term investments are best. Volatility does not matter in long run.

For btc i think long term is more profitable. For alts, it depends on the alts, there are some that are for long term like eth ltc ripple neo iota and a lot for short term only. But bear in mind that long term investment is also high risk. Now when it comes to trading,  it also depends on your time or availability,  if you have enough time go for day trading which allows you to speculate and earn a lot if you know how to do it strategically since cryptos are volatile but it is tiring and stressful.

You see, when you say long term is more profitable... if i put it 10k and hope price will double i have 20k. But with short term you take small pieces of profits and it can get you to exponential grow of your portfolio and those 10k can make you a heck more than just 20k. I will have to think about this one a bit more i guess Cheesy

It is reasonable to have different investment. How long and short. At the same time need to develop their investments in coins.

I have always seen in crypto market the long term and medium term investors have been in profits .The main mistake what we do is after we sell of we immediately tend to buy at cheaper prices, but we should wait for the complete correction approx 30% from the previous high, until then i m not getting in and taking any buy positions .I will wait and try to buy at lows not in the middle.Try this guys hope this might help and get some profits.

Short term trading can obtain you even more than 5% in a day but occassionally you may lose most of your trades with this strategy.
I would like to put forward a helpful consideration:  Divide the whole amount into 2 categorem, invest 50% in bitcoin for a long-term plan, and another 50% in an altcoin that has high demand

The thing that gets you some times are the trading fees. You tend to forget about that and it eats into your profits, if these

fees are high. There are also withdrawal & deposit fees and if you are anything like me, you will not store your coins on the

exchanges. {I do regular deposits & withdrawals, because I do not trust exchanges} Most money lost, has been through

exchanges that got hacked.  Roll Eyes

if you have the time and can endure the stress and hard work of day-trading then that is the choice you can go for. it is a good profit because bitcoin is still pretty volatile and if you can speculate it accurately most of the times then you will make profit most of the times.
regarding altcoins, day-trading is the only option that is good enough. long term of altcoins is high risk at best and they are very unpredictable.

if you can't do the above then you choose long term investment. also if you don't like using exchanges since they are all pretty crap then you also choose long term investment.

It's always best to hold  for the long term if you just invested or is somewhat new to bitcoin investment because gone were the days when the early adopters bought them for less than 10$ and these guys are those that can sell any time but not us when the price was already high when we joined.

Thank you fellas.
If someone want to make real profits from crypto currency then it should be in long term because the price of crypto currency will increase in the long term so if you can hold cryptos for years then you can be a millionaire.
But in terms of trading day trading will be more profitable because it needs more skills but not all can succeed because the profit of one trader is actually loss of some other trader so know the risks of day trading before doing it.

It's depends of your mind. Besecialy trading Is the best with me. Trading can give me huge profit for short time. Firstly you went to like short time for good profit or long time for good profit. But personally I give you suggest. You can choose trading. Because trading can give our huge profit for short time. So you will try this. I don't support long time investment. Because investment is the always risky with me Kiss
I like them trading. Trading making good profitable.

For me, Long term investing is good. It helps me a lot and I profit a lot when the bitcoin value goes up to the 20,000$ mark. Less hassle in long term investing but just invest only a small amount because bitcoin is unpredictable, it's value may go up or down.

Both, In long term investment you will see how longterm investment is so risky, in short term there is a risk also but low. You can see that when you invest in long term investment you will gain more profit than investing in short term investment but the thing is if it is legit investment, Trading everyday is a good thing and you will gain more profit in trading.
