Whats the longest wait you've had for a transfer to go through.  I used shapeshift late last night and it still hasn't come through. I just did another one and it went right through.
you are to be patient with the network this days as I experienced this same scenario about a week ago and my client get angry with me but finally after 24 hour my transactions went through. Because of the changes we are having due to price fluctuations especially the increased in price this day, transactions are very difficult to confirm, most of those using regular fees are having  problem of confirmations. My friend also transfered fund to poloniex and it take about 2 days before he see the coins in his wallet.

My transaction usually takes me a half day. It's too long time. I think developers need to improve the system. Huh

Well so far i don’t experience any problem for now and i think the longest wait is 4hrs well it’s normal for me for a lower fees.
Well even 4 hours is not normal but as there have been a lot of problems in the past with the transaction confirmation time, sometimes it took even more than 48 hours that's why we think of the 5 to 8 hours as a normal time for transaction confirmation. In past this time used to be less than 30 minutes. It was a great time where the transaction used to confirm quick and transaction fee was very much low. Just a few cents.
I waited long for more than 72 hours once for my transaction to confirm, it was some six to seven months earlier I guess.

I've also experienced the same thing, it took 6 hours to actually be sent, and it's very long, I do not know the cause of it is possible from the network or server from there.

It's possible that you have an error or a maintenance wallet. As usual, I transferred only an average of 30 minutes to 1 hour is completed. At the time of maintenance you should not trade to avoid the risk to your account.

Roughly three days. It was from an exchange out to my blockchain wallet. I don't know what's going during that time but i've contacted support from both the exchange and blockchain and it seemed to be a general issue not only happening to me. Aside from that, i don't really have any serious delays with transfers both for deposit and withdrawal

My longest wait when I holding my altcoins is 6 months
I know it is very long time but because of my patience, I gained a lot of money. I can say that holding our coins can make more profit.

What? I am not quite sure you understood the OP's question. He is asking of transfer time of transaction, not holding a coin.

Anyway, my longest wait was a little over two days. I was still a noob and that was my first transfer experience. It was with Changelly. I needed to make doge transfer and it somehow got stuck. Later, I understood the fault was from me. Ever since then transactions with them have been very smooth sailing. OP, maybe there's something from your end that didn't go in well and that could cause the delay.

My first time experience of selling our ethereum to bitcoin transaction thru hitbtc was one to two days of waiting because the site is very busy processing of many transaction request  which our request was completed just yesterday. I just hope after segwit2X it will reduce the processing time of every transaction or to make it instantly if possible  Cheesy

My longest wait is almost 48 hours then I decided to use Viabtc's transaction accelerator. It didn't work at first because whenever I try to enter the transaction ID there's a message that says limit has been reached for the number of transaction submitted or something like that. If its stuck with no confirmation use Viabtc's transaction accelerator. BTC.com also offers transaction accelerator but there's a fee and it depends on the number of bytes. Last night I tried to use it for a $200 transaction and BTC.com is asking for $22 fee for their transaction accelerator service.

if you transaction didn't go through, it might never will. Talk with the shapeshift support team (send them an email, they will ask you information such as the transaction id etc.) it happened to be once. The transaction didn't go through and after contacting them they looked into it and refunded my wallet. Customer support there is quite fast and helpful - you won't have a problem

Its been a long time for me to get my payment lately. Last time it was before three month, and that time i was using Zebpay app and i requested for withdrawal to my address. But i didn't got it, actually the problem was mine because i didn't gave the right address of that wallet and gave other address of other wallet.I was lucky that i shared my other wallet address to the third party otherwise my payment  of $50 wouldn't have received in my bank account.

But later on i apologized to their team and then i got my problem solved by explaining them. So be alert and active while sharing your wallet address, double check it when doing big transactions. Smiley  .

As i can remember i have been also waiting for almost half day or 12 hours to confirm the transaction before, and the most sad part is that it was my first time using shapeshift, and then i am already in a total panic and starting to worried, it was my first impression, but it actually gone through it, besides there are so many good feed backs about it, so i just let it be. I think the problem too was not the blockchain but its about their system.
System upgradation was occurring that’s why people have to wait for the confirmation of their transactions and this was just for the sake of the investors new security algorithms are implemented that’s why system got slow but now things are on the right ride and there will be no future problems for the investors and this will be for service goodness.

The longest time I ever waited for a transaction to get completed was 2 hours. Never gone past that. However, since you said you made use of shapeshift, have you tried contacting them since it is already a day and the new one you just did went right through. There could be some mix up somewhere. However, if there is a challenge, there is a possibility of it coming back to the sending wallet.

Mine was more than 24 hours. But it went eventually through.

It also looks like many of us will be waiting longer if unconfirmed transactions do not go down, look here https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-count

Someone is flooding the mempool again or we are witnessing abnormally high transactions, maybe because of Bitcoin's rally.

Well, that ends my longest wait. I wish it had gone through yesterday..  It would have made me a lot of Bitcoin!  But better late than never.
Always try to use higher fee on your transaction when mempool is full of unconfirmed transactions like right now.

I have waited for 24 hours max to get confirmation on my bitcoin transaction.
