THIS IS OVER YOUR BUDGET SO MAY BE USELESS (but helpful to others)!
Price: $2283.0 or 5.94672175 Bitcoin

https://www.hashnest.com/hash_currencies/25/income

Check HERE

You need to create an account because of the security of hashnest but it is part of bitmain which is a well respected company in bitcoin mining.
This may be better for your money. 700 units went on sale yesterday (i think).

Stock still at 406.
No problem with worrying about the hardware problems reported and the speculation of the S7 as data is calculated from Antpool's income.

I am looking to get the most hash for the $$

My budget is $2k for the miner + PSU.

An Antminer S7 is way within your budget and can produce around 2 btc a month!
You can buy this from bitmain.com (their deliveries seem to be becoming very slow)
There is also an Antminer S7 that you can purchase from hashnest.com that may have a faster roi or you may be able to try miningsweden.se to order one and get it delivered to you or hosted there but it is in Sweden/Europe.

How can a S7 make 2 BTC per month. Daily income is 0.035 btc * 30 = 1.05 BTC?

AH! That was the figures I got for the S5+ and not the S7, the S7 should produce between 1 btc and 1.1 btc per month at the current difficulty. (Depending on the version that is purchased.

So what any recommendations on a rig that doesn't require a degree in electricity?

i would only suggeste antminer s7 or the lite version, and discard all the rest they are not efficienty, and require more space, space is important, density is important

With what PSU...?

You could boost the voltage with a transformer but there will be some slight inefficiency and it starts getting expensive for all these extra parts.  You really need to run a 230vac circuit from your electrical box.  If you know no electrical theory then this will be a problem.  You could also pull from 2 outlets as long as they are from the 2 legs of the box and wire it up, but if you don't know electrical theory and probably dont if you're asking these questions then you will blow yourself up.

Why do you need 220 plugs? One plug socket at "normal" function should be able to power this, not sure what you are referring to. A usual AC plug socket at 220V to 240V should be able to power the power supply. The rest of the sockets plug into the antminer s7. It strikes me now that I read somewhere that the S7 requires 2 power supplies due to the large amout of chips it has (so needs more research).

("However, It may be better to get a UPS (uninterruptable power supply) for this type of product as it will send a shutdown message to the antminer if there is a power cut or a fuse/switch trips to the bitocin miner. " Seems I may have mixed up a normal webserver with a data mining server. You will be fine with a PSU!)

1. The PSU cannot be used in countries with a mains power voltage lower than 205V. The PSU will not start below this voltage.

US normal plugs are rated at 110.

Incease the voltage? Using a transformer or get a travel adapter to UK from US for $5 and change the voltage from 110 to 230. Would this not work?

The EVGA should work but I don't think it has enough PCIe connectors. There has got to be someone in the US running one of these stable with a PSU...

That only leaves me $177 for my PSU. So that's not in my budget.....$177 isn't enough to get a good psu to power that.

The recommended one is only $155. Supposedly it still has better voltage and power control for the antminer than previous versions of the PSU. However, It may be better to get a UPS (uninterruptable power supply) for this type of product as it will send a shutdown message to the antminer if there is a power cut or a fuse/switch trips to the bitocin miner.

When you have no idea what you're talking about, it's best not to speak. A UPS for a bitcoin miner is the most ridiculous thing you could do.  Roll Eyes

Yofun, he's talking about bitmain's very own 1600w PSU for $155.

That one? I don't have any 220 plugs :/

If you are thinking of ordering an antminer s7, it may be better for you to wait as at the moment they have boards that apparently are underhashing from what they should be doing on sale! It may be cheeper this way however. Search for antminer s7 in speculation and you should find this topic, will attach link shortly.

Not sure. (quick bump to get someone's attention who would know)

If this would work for the S7 then I would get this. Since its 110
