But I have used a browser on Android for this forum before, if you close the browse and you open it again or you power off your phone, you will see what you were typing, it will not clear away. But upgrade on the browser removed this feature.

Yeah it often depends on the kinda browser one is using as there some mobile browser like the Chrome browser, Opera browser and some others that when you accidentally use the backward keys while still typing but if you use the forward keys it will display what you're typing again so it basically depends on your browser.

In a case of poor network or maybe your network becomes unavailable while typing, it is advisable to copy what you are typing before refreshing the page otherwise you will lose the whole content of what you're typing, and in a case whereby you are done typing and you hit the post button and the network goes of what you need do is keep refreshing the page rather than using the backward key as you may also lose the whole content of what you typed.

The forum isn't that way just as what they already explain above, if you are exploring the forum through your Smartphone then I will suggest you install operamini browser. When you accidentally navigate other window or hit the back button you can still go back using the arrows shown < left and > right to retrace back your post. This works for me I don't know if others uses this same browser as I does. Otherwise it's always encourageable to be previewing your post while you are active on the typing windows to save your post automatically.

I don’t know how correctly I understood your text, but on my laptop, when I write a post, press the back button, and then click again on the page to print the post, everything is saved. Maybe the problem lies when using mobile gadgets. I deliberately tried to do this, but maybe this happens after a pause.

The forum is able to provide a preview bottom to be able to save all your rights up for up to seven days.

If you are using your PC and you mistakenly delete some portion or all your writeup by mistake, the undo bottom or control +z is there to help retain all the writeup for you.

If the automatic save is added, it will be a good one because sometimes most people lose all their writing if the browser or network mistakenly fails at some point and they are not able to preview their writing.

This and if you mistakenly delete text in editor, for that undo button would be nice. Preview button is still a manual process and I refuse to accept it as a solution.

I don't know if the billon dollar one will have that feature but this one does has solutions for that. If you click on preview, what you have written is saved, and if you accidentally click on the back arrow, then click on the forward arrow and the text is as it is.
Click on preview and all what you have that you want to post would be saved in a draft, yes and that is good. But I have seen it on a forum before that what you want to post will still just be there if anything happened to your device, as you open the browser back, you will see you post there.

But I have used a browser on Android for this forum before, if you close the browse and you open it again or you power off your phone, you will see what you were typing, it will not clear away. But upgrade on the browser removed this feature.

On Edge browser on the Windows 11 that I am using, if I do not clear the browser or remove what I am about to post or writing as I do not click on preview, edge browser will let me see what I was about to post before I close the browser or power off the computer. So if I mistakenly close the browser, all I need to do is to open it back and see what I want to post without clicking on preview.

But if I want to remove the link to what I am posting, I can click on preview.

On the present Android and Edge desktop browser that I am using, if I hit back arrow, I will only have to hit the forward arrow to see what I am posting again and continue. I do not like Duckduckgo for not having this.

Most forums and many websites (like gmail) are able to save your post in a cookie as you type.  If you navigate away by mistake, the post will be waiting for you if you go right back.

Does the billion dollar forum have that feature?  I got so used to it I forgot this forum is so old... :/

You can use the forum's Drafts page but you must click on Preview or make a Post to save a draft.

I dislike if a platform auto saves what I am composing, not posting yet, without my permission.

I read it's possible for auto saving draft in SMF forum, but I think this will become a workload for the forum since they need bigger storage to auto save every users' posts.

Enable automatic saving of drafts - This will automatically save user drafts in the background on a given frequency. The user must also have the proper permissions.
How often should drafts be autosaved? - The minimum allowable value is 30 seconds.

When it comes to create a long post, I mostly type it in notepad so if I accidentally clicked something, there's a pop out message to confirm whether I want to save, don't save or cancel it.

I hope this feature will be added because sometimes when I am away from my laptop I have to make post using my smartphone and the problem with smartphone is sometimes mistakenly I hit back button and everything is gone. Back when I totally made posts on smartphone for like 1 month I faced this issue so many times and got frustrated.

I am making this post on my smartphone and still afraid to lose it, to solve this I mostly try to preview it so it can be saved in draft, there are many other options available too like using some other text editors to write posts more efficiently even there are a text editor where you can make lists or make table and when you will hit the bbcode feature on those editors, they will convert the whole tags used in your text into bbcode like for list it will use list tag.

But I don't used to them so I avoid them

I would expect the new forum to be like that or better.
