well i lost a lot when i was starting my journey back then,
invested for more than $2000 as a start and lose it all in a few months later because of my foolishness.
but i never gave up,
i learned from my mistake, how about sad ?,yes,i felt so sad back then when i spent/lost it all.
but it did not last long because as a trader i need to maintain my head and my emotion.
the biggest problem when we're trading cryptocurrency is emotion.
we need to control it fully because crypto is a whole new level of 'asset'(compared to others).
its price can go down 100% from its average price tomorrow but at the same time it can go up 100% from its average price tomorrow.

i won't forget that and it would be my history,
even though i lost it,i did not regret it.because i learned something from it.

Most of the players here started out with bitcoin when the price was way below thousand dollars and it does not even matter how the market reacts now, unless and until the market goes back to the old levels ,there is no panic from my side as i have made a good profit with it and sold some coins for me to take care of my business even if i can take some risks here and there. 22 December 2017 was really a bad day for all right?
But seems all was okay for old players with big holdings didn't matter much at all, well I have heard people saying that it didn't effect them much. But what about new players? I was one of the new investor months back and im still recovering lol... well anyone here wanna share your grief? anyone here in big loss?

Your grief, and my grief are very different. You may call it, my sadness is "planned sadness" or "planned folly" it's all up to you. What is clear, even though it is disadvantageous and sad, but ultimately I feel happy because my family's economy to be good.

Three days ago, my family's economy was in trouble, I was forced to sell some of my BTC, because it was the only way to earn money, I knew very well what would happen if I sold BTC at that time. That I would experience loss. Apparently true, I suffered losses almost reached 41% - 43%. I think that's my biggest loss.

I had sold my bitcoin when it was 17000$. I just really want to sell and that's what i did. I was knowing somewhere that it'll further rise but i was just too afraid to take the risk so i just prepared myself for settling on what I have rather than what i might have and sold my bitcoin!
It further rose but i was happy i made some profit!

The logic of 'it's okay for new guys because they got in earlier' is both correct and incorrect at the same time. Yes they are better off because they're still in huge profit but that doesn't mean that they are different to everyone else, they've still lost 50% (or so) of there potential all time high and that will hurt them just as it hurts anyone else. The only difference is they've probably been there before, time and time again, and so are better equipped to deal with the highs and lows.

no mate indeed based on my experience If you constantly hold a bigger amount while the price is decreasing there's a tend that you will lose a big profits also maybe 10% of your profits . Like what happened to my profits when i didn't noticed the fall dip. So i think Much better to sell right away when its dumping to avoid huge lose and buy back to multiply your profits.

well, I bought when the price was $17,000, I thought with so much good news we would be in the $25000 or even $30,000... but this fall caught me by surprise, I'm not looking at the losses because if I hold for long term, something like two years. then I will recover and still make a profit. investing in the crypto is need to be very calm and patience.

Ouch. This is why you dollar cost average, people. If you buy with a one-off lump sum you can accidentally get the timing wrong.

Your options are either to hold and hope it goes to above $17,000, or invest some more at around $10,000, which lowers your total average buying price and means you are in profit at around $13,500.

I think this decline will last long enough and will go back up as before even more so if you are a good holder then hold it so as not to lose, and just share tips how to overcome your losses is a short-term investment strategy in some altcoin like ethereum , I also suffered huge losses but at least I can cover it with this strategy
hopefully this is useful

I'd prefer to call it as SET BACK than to a total loss. Well for those who have not reacted to this trend of bitcoin they are still waiting for something good to happen.

Can tell everyone is waiting for the 8k drop.. all TA's and so forth show it.  Since everyone is waiting on the drop to buy, I think the whales may keep people waiting forever just to mess with them.

Listen, dude
although the price of the accident is so great but nobody will admit they feel the loss.
Because basically people can still wait and hold until the price returns to normal. lol  Cheesy
I personally do not feel any loss, I just consider it a process of travel from bitcoin. Tomorrow or the next day who knows bitcoin back toward the moon.

BTC is a game of patience and courage. It fluctuates ups and down several times.People who have courage and patience and can hold their investment for a long time definitely can earn huge reward from their investments in BTC.High risk and reward go side by side.BTC is not good for shortcut investor because it needs some time to go higher and higher. In a nutshell i can say that its not good for short term because it required some time to go higher and higher and can be helpful and more rewarding for those who hold it for long time and wait for pump up time..
for sure those most who have patience and efforts will earn much profit after all. And indeed that is the common strategy when the volatility occured.  Which is need more days or months to wait before we sell. Or decide to make a long term investment instead of short  term if you have doubts.  Cause the circumstances of market is very difficult so much better to invest in long term to avoid loses in short term.

I was one of the fools who bought in December...

December 2013.

The price had run up from $100 to over $1000 in just a couple months.

I sure felt like a bag holder as Mt Gox collapsed and took the price with it all the way down to the $200s.

Took a few years but I’ve still made 10x off those $1000 “bag-holders”. And just think about the ones I managed to scoop up in the $200s from my pit of despair as the price continued to decline in the year to follow.  Grin

Good thing I never SODL! Dollar cost averaged my way all the way down and back up again over the years. There was a period of time in there I even forgot all about my Bitcoin. Until it hit the news again.

Patience, young Jedis...

BTFD!

And come back in 2020.

I don't really have a big loss with bitcoin, I am still in profit even if bitcoin price drops for almost 50%. I am still hoping bitcoin will recover this year and will make another ATH's. All of us wants ATH's, but after we experience new ATH's a lot of big investors selling their bitcoin already to gain profit for their assurance maybe that is also why bitcoin price are dropping after ATH's.

If you are new investors than a hold strategy will always work for you in long run but if you will panic and sell during dumps you will loss so much. Just be patience and keep holding what you might have bought at peak price, price will recover soon to above known ATH price.

For me, I am also down by larger % in terms of USD but I am trying to keep my total BTC holding same because I am quite confident that one day price will recover.

Yesterday i check the elliotwave analyses and agreed with most part of them. So what i think?
Here it is i think bitcoin price is going to drop to 6-8k$ and from this point will start to rise again.
so i sold all my crypto today and waiting for a drop than i will jump in the board again.
PS. i will never hold my fiat on Tether Smiley

it was a bad day indeed but not because price went down, it was a bad day because it once again proved that bitcoin investors do not understand the market at all. they care more about FUD, regulations, Korea, China, .... than they care about learning what the hell bitcoin is.

if half of these newbies investing in bitcoin started looking more into it and tried to educate themselves to understand what a censorship resistance an decentralized peer to peer digital cash means, then price would have never been this volatile with big dumps and big upswings while whales become richer and richer.

I will give you an example, last year in January many altcoins fell a lot. lisk is in the 17000 satoshi and see the price that lisk has today, then is as I said, in the world of crypto is need to have patience
^ This must be the attitude of everyone who's starting to invest in crypto. I'm fine with what's happening to the price of bitcoin now and I don't look at the current movement what I do is extending my future goals and views on where will bitcoin be. So there's no loss in long term holding.

well I have heard people saying that it didn't effect them much.
This is why being optimistic is really working.
But what about new players? I was one of the new investor months back and im still recovering lol... well anyone here wanna share your grief? anyone here in big loss?
Just don't panic and it will recover later on. For those who bought at the range of $15,000 - $19,000 we are on loss at the moment but don't look at it today.
