This is true, but what are we to do. This has been argued to death already. I guess you could give Lycan a neg rep since it's likely he'll sell this account too at some point.

Whether he was formally accused or not isn't really relevant to the point I was trying to make. Rather that it would have been better to get the account details before "voicing your suspicions", so we could establish whether this was an attempted scam or not.

The simplest solution is not to buy an account, but if you do then you've taken the risk of doing so. The best you can do is buy from someone who has done a few successful trades before, but that doesn't guarantee anything.

That's the trouble with buying accounts. The seller can get it back any time. They've got nothing to lose in attempting to do so.

Another reason why selling accounts isn't va good thing.

I hope that situations like that one will clearly explain why selling/buying bitcointalk accounts isn't a good habit.

We should have 2FA authentication after so many complains of hacked accounts. It is a necessity in the better interest of the forum and email validation sud be done to prevent useless and inactive accounts, besides sockpuppets

I was reseting my password many times.

Why you cannot do it?

Maybe he has registered the account with a false email address?
In fact, you could enter some BS like ([email protected]) in the email address field, as there is no need for email activation.

If LYCAN did that it is now a problem for him and perhaps this is a reason why it is quite important to use valid e-mails even if you will even create a new one just for recovering a pass purposes

But perhaps if it was really his account Theymos will solve the problem.
