I just read through the whole topic and I saw some people say they think our vardiff is to much. The reason you can easily get to 1k is I have it set to try and keep you at 1 share per 30 seconds. Since we have a ton of people on the pool and most are at the max vardiff range and are getting more then 50 shares per 30 seconds I had to make it average everyone else at 1 share per 30 seconds. It was either that or Shut the pool down since the server machine can't handle anything faster then that.
On a side note:
HackShardGaming pool mined a total of: 33 Million coins since yesterday. 20 Million Coins where mined since I went to sleep after I fixed the vardiff. That tells me that everything is working exactly as it is supposed to. I guess I can go on and change one line that makes it stop lowering changing your difficulty every 60 seconds and make it 120 but will that really have a huge effect on you? I don't think it will. I think everything is setup exactly like it should be.
Huge thanks for implementing vardiff for me. It has worked wonderfully and flawlessly for me so far. My whopping ~70K hash now gets 1000 LOT every 45mins.
Laugh all you want
but it is much better than not having the vardiff.
I am glad it has helped the pool immensely as well..especially at the chances of bonus blocks.
2x-3x increase in coin pool wide is phenominal..and even at the current super low rate of .08 vig the vardiff change alone made you 1 million more lot than you would have without it just while you slept.
Cheers to that.
You got that right. it didn't make ME 1 million more though. it made my MINERS 1 million more. I only get 2.5% of that. But to be honest with you. At current trading prices.... the coins I made last night have paid for this server machine for an entire MONTH!! I want to thank every single one of you. and hey. If we keep this up maybe I'll open up a 2nd pool later on
(thats if we reach a cap out in server specs again ofc)
I just wanted to point out that Devianttwo has been a big help. Very active and supportive. I'm only mining at around 50khash/s, but he's been very helpful to me. I'd recommend his pool. Not saying the others aren't great, but just giving a recommendation and a kudos.
HUGE +1 from another slow hash miner.
Thanks
You are more than welcome.
Is your pool fee 2.5%?
My bad I calculated it for a full day of additional benefit strictly bc of vardiff (and not just 1/3 of a day for guesstimate of sleep time).
Using the 2x-3x increased hashing and additional uptime (potentially closer to a 4x-5x coin increase...I only assumed for the calculations ~2.5x)
so .33 million as you slept and 1 million per 24hr.
2.5% of 20million is 500,000. Maybe I'm missing something?
May I pm you to ask some general pool operator/admin side operational questions?
Maybe instead of pool admin/op I think I'll just mark twain it to lifeguard from hence forth.
Actually that sounds about right. looking at the Transaction history I have actually earned 1,125,219 LOT's in fees and 10,955 in Donations. so your about spot on on how much I am earning from running this pool.
http://lot.hackshardgaming.net is now back online! Pool updated and payouts complete.
now to wait on the pool to catch back up withdifficulty per person. Its flooding it right now lol.
After watching for a few minutes I noticed that the share difficulty for some people is still to low. causing unwanted lag spikes in the pool and even lost blocks. I have raised the maximum difficulty back to 4000 and I have changed the default connected difficulty to 128. This will retarget down to 16 for slow miners and up to 4k for the fastest of fast miners. Hopefully this will solve the shares going to quickly issue we are having.
Looks like its working for now. I'm going to grab a bite to eat and then watch it some more.
Why has the TX fee changed from .8 to 1.2? or is it variable?
That is a variable that your seeing there. Off of every coin that you mine the server gets .025 coins. 2.5% fee's
TX Fee for Cashing out bitcoins on the other hand is only .1 LOT. That is attached to all transactions to make them faster.
