looks like i am having a the same issue. I have 3 rx 580 8GB cards one hashing at 27.5 and the other two at 22.5. when i try and overclock them i get no result but if i raise the memory clock high enough my mining rig crashes. i also have gtx 1060s 6GB and i can get up to 23.5 just fine. i can use the MSI after burner to raise the hash rate but i can not do that for my AMD cards.

if anyone has a solution

please advise

thank you

It depends on the driver you are using for MSI Afterburner to recognise the cards. For example the latest version 4.5.0 of MSI can recognise the latest Adrenaline driver and also the Blockchain driver differently from previous versions which cannot recognise both. Check which driver are you using and if you see Adrenaline and not Crimson Beta make sure to
1. Right click on empty space on desktop
2. Choose AMD settings
3. Global Game settings
4. Make sure you change from Gpu workload graphics to Gpu workload compute.

Also remodify the bios if you haven't already done so.

Hi all. I just set up a couple GPU's in my PC (figured I'd start small before jump into a 6 GPU mining rig, and you can't find cards anywhere). Right now I'm pulling 45ish Mh/s, but after researching I feel like I should be able to get 55-60. I've already done the bios mod (changing the memory timin I believe). I followed a couple guides, yet when I down clock my core clock, and increase my memory clock I only get 11 Mh/s per card. I'm not sure what steps I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ETA: sorry, forgot to add some info. I'm trying to dual mine using Claymore (latest version) ethereum and siacoin (my siacoin hashrate is 1400 Mh/s, don't know if this is good or not). I'm on 17.4.4 AMD drivers. I'm pool mining on Nanopool. And the cards are both PowerColor RX 580's. One is a Red Devil and the other is a Red Dragon.

Switching to Win 10 partly fixed the issue.  Switching to Compute instead of Graphics in the utility boosted the rate quite a bit.  What helped even more after that was turning off Crossfire!  The first time I tried it, the system crashed.  Perhaps that was with Win 7 - don't recall.  But this time it worked fine and I was able to control the cards separately and get to about 23 - 24 on each card.

Thanks for the advice.

That's my recent setup

powercolor Reddragon rx580 4GB HYNIX

29-30MHs

just set it up testing for overnight see how it goes

https://image.ibb.co/hsDcwm/PHOTO_20180112_222552.jpg

Can you please share your modified bios here?
I have installed fall creators update, lates amd mining drivers,
copied the straps 1500 to 2000,
it did bump speed a bit but currently 22 MH, no where near what everyone claiming to be 28-30 Mhs.

Using power color 580 red dragon 4gb with hynix memory.
Did overclocking with msi after burner as well but not much help.

I'm having the same issues with RX570 and RX480 boards.  I just tried backing up to the suggested drivers (17.11.4), but the hashrate did not improve, and Afterburner wasn't able to measure GPU temp on either card or voltage on one.  Possibly an incompatibility between latest Afterburner and the Nov 27 drivers.  I keep reading that stock, out of the box, I should be getting >22 MH/s with these cards.  Using Afterburner prior to this, I was able to tweak it from 17 MH/s to 20 MH/s on the RX580 card.  No BIOS update or anything more.  I'm running on Win 7 64-bit.  Noted that Dev Mgr reports a completely different driver series number, but the installer reported the expected number when it completed.  Now back to the latest driver (17.12.2, I think).

The RX480 has Samsung memory.  The RX570 has Elpida memory.

When I only had one card (RX580) I wondered if running the display on one of the cards was taking up some of the processing power, but I've got both cards now, and the display is only running from one of them, so that can't be it.  (And nobody has said that this affects the hashrate.)

I'm stumped.  I should be able to get to at least >22 MH/s without doing any BIOS updates, right?  I'd like to just solve the base issue for now.

Thanks

Gotta run Windows 10 - 64bit ...Windows 7 will not allow the speed&x lanes needed

Sapphire Nitro+ RX 850 8gb.

Out of the box 27MH/s. Bios mods and the correct AMD mining drivers gives 31.3 stable.

clock 1200 memory 2130

Use MSI not trixx

don't forget to add the clock speeds to the batch script.

You have to make sure you download the correct drivers.  I had the same issue, i had to uninstall the "update to date" drivers and install this one: radeon-crimson-relive-17.11.4

https://www.techspot.com/downloads/drivers/essentials/amd-crimson-hotfix/.

Use the DDU tool to uninstall your old drivers.

Hello,
I have the same problem. After Nicehash was hacked (my 2x RX480 4gb OC+ with modded bios 1190 Mhz core, 2150 Mhz RAM Samsung was stable at ETH 26-27 Mh/s + Decred 790 Mh/s on each GPU with Nicehash program + Claymore Dual miner). I tried run Claymore manually and receive 22,5 Mh/s on ETH + Decred 700-760  Mh/s. Up + n Down - (-decri) in console - no effect on ETH hashrate Sad(

I'm having the same issue - can't get past 16 MH/s with a Red Dragon RX580 8Gb Hynix!
Interestingly enough, I can only get 33 Mh/s with a Vega 56 which seems like 50% less than anyone else.
Are there any other settings which may be bottle necking this ?

This applies to ETC / ETH single and Dual Mining in Claymore, standard drivers, no BIOS mods.

Seeing this problem more and more I search for a solution. Been at this for a few days now.

I have 1 Sapphire RX 580 8GB NItro+ HiNyX  card that won't get past 22mhz dual mining - ETC & LBC - no matter which bios I try, and any OC settings just make the hash worse. I have tried 4 or 5 different ones.

I have tried and double checked everything...My RX480 8GB Nitro+ Sapphire runs at same speed.

All threads to this problem seem to dead end, so I'm replying to this dead one in hopes someone found a solution?

Or were we lucky to get a bad batch of the last of rx 580 hinyx boards?

UPDATE: I have discovered some of these cards have *2* different mem manuf. - mine has BOTH Samsung & Hinyx - also had to use another version of Polaris Editor - SRBPolarisV3 allowed me too see the correct memory straps for each Samsung and Hinyx.
Since none of the bios I downloaded made no improvements, I would try manually adjusting.
I could not do this before, so I tried editing/copying the straps ... a few different combos tried on each pair. No improvement.
Stuck again at same 22mhz hash rate ... no matter the strap copy combo... hash is even lower on the stock bios setting btw. 19mhz.

I really for the life of me can't figure out what the issue is.  I'm trying to set up the Red Dragon itself.  I copied the timings from 1500 to everything under it, yet it's still hashing at the same rate.  I even copied the 1750 to 2000 as well.  When I try to raise the memory clock up to 2100 it goes DOWN.  This is one ETH mining only.  Maybe I got a bum card?

Its 1500 up not down! - reedit the origional bios and do it correctly

I'm having the same issue with all my cards. If I touch anything on the memory or core clock the hashrate drops like a bowling ball.
Currently running:
radeon-crimson-relive-17.4.3 minimalsetup drivers
PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 580 4gb (Hynix)
Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 4GB (Hynix)
Sapphire Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB (Hynix)

(ETH Only in Claymore v9,5)
All the stock settings give me between 21-22mh/s on the 4 PULSE and RED DRAGON and 80% of the time will run @ 24mh/s on the NITRO+

I would love to see any kind of improvement before I try to mod the bios.

I think this is the best you can get with stock bios.
Also Hynix memory is not the best. I have rx470 with Elpida memory and with Hinyx memory. Elpida is doing 1 Mh more than Hinyx cards, and it can run memory at higher clock speeds (50-100Mhz more)
