Learning never stops!
Bump!

I'm still working on adding avatars.

You can create a div that contains both

// depending on how you want it to be you can specify the flex : 2 if you want it to be on equal scale with that of signature

date <-- you can specify the style of box-model[ margin-top,padding] play with them using pixels(px) as unit --->

             <--your signature --->

I added classes because the inline css my look to bumpy  so you can use external css. This is just only a write up

Design Code help needed

Since I still know nothing about CSS, I need some help:
Take this test page for example: I want to place the avatar left from the signature. The signature code is copied as-is from the forum. Example:
Code:

It's probably very easy if you know what you're doing (unlike me, I'm flying blind here). Who helps me out?

Your HTML is making elements that look like this:

Code:
2023-07-03_Mon_21:50h

Avatar first detected on 2023-09-19_Tue_12:11h

You should change whatever is generating this code to make each entry print like this:

Code:

    2023-07-03_Mon_21:50h
    Avatar first detected on 2023-09-19_Tue_12:11h

Now put this inside your element:

Code:

The problem is that it adds many lines of code. I'm looking for something simple that works with the existing code inside the forum's signature code.

The easiest way to achieve this is by adding a float attribute to the avatar image.

For example, if you want the avatar on the left side of the signature, just include this in your tag: style="float: left;"

Code:
Avatar first detected on 2023-09-19_Tue_12:11h

Everything that comes after that (in this case, the signature code) will be displayed to the right of the image.

When you want to break away from the float (to force a newline), add this attribute: style="clear: both;"

For example, in your case, I would suggest adding this to the date/time content:

Code:
2023-07-03_Mon_06:10h

This will help in cases where there is no signature code present but the following content should go below the image.

I'm not sure that design is the right word for what you want, at least looking at the design of other parts of the loyce.club site  Grin
Good point, I need Code help Smiley

I don't know why you haven't designed a good looking site to automate everything, you could provide all your services via the site and only announce new services in here.
I care about data, not looks Tongue Although things would be much easier with a big database, but I'm too locked in to start changing things now.

Would doing that require backend development which you don't have?  I can imagine learning full stack development would take you less than 6 months considering your intelligence.

It's a waste of your talent if you don't try to harness all it's potential. Feel free to burn this letter after reading. Lol.

The minimum for you is an ordinary table, I would suggest structure something like this:

or as an HTML document:

I know that you are not a supporter of using external services, but Bootstrap is something completely different and has a lot of advantages. Finally, you can host it yourself if you don't want these calls.
Here is the code:

Code:

I'm still waiting for a campaign that pays extra to users who have tens of thousands of old posts.

As far as I know there was only one campaign awarding users for their past activity, in addition to the posts they made weekly, on this forum but maybe I'm missing some others

-snip-
We will pay:
- $0.25 per new post
- $0.0005 daily * total post count (all posts for your account(s) are counted. The stat on your profile.)
Ex: You have 1000 posts total on forum and you make 10 more after joining. You will get $2.5 for the 10 posts at the end of the day. You will also get $0.505 for the day. If you then stopped posting, you would keep getting $0.505 daily for keeping the signature.

Amount is credited in BTC at current exchange rate (adjusted daily, you will see amount to pay in USD and corresponding BTC amount credited). Payments will be processed once per week (during weekend) to allow us to review reputation and post quality for users.

I know this post will be deleted, but I didn't want to let it go without congratulating you on this new service at LoyceV.

I just hope I have few movements in this log... it's a sign that I'll be in the same campaign for a long time!  Tongue

I guess they would have to keep list of participants updated all the time, that can be a hustle for some.
They're campaign managers, keeping a list of participants is their core business Wink

The only thing that can seem tiring here is the large number of campaign participants.
That's why I sort them in "last changed" time slots. If a campaign is running stable, there shouldn't be many recent changes. See Hhampuz' example: the majority of the recently added usernames are no longer in the top time slot. Checking a few of them, it shows the colors in the signature were changed.

How to join
  • Wear any signature and be detected by me in the future, when I add you to increase my historic data
I'll do that once this works well enough. Tracking 1000 signatures and avatars means about 2 downloads per minute. That's not so bad, I can do that. That means, if a campaign managers adds someone half a year from now, there's already some signature history for most users.

Sounds good, but I guess they would have to keep list of participants updated all the time, that can be a hustle for some.
How can manager see if link in signature was changed, maybe with added different custom link or different website?

If the bot monitors any change, I assume that even after recognizing a new web address, it would write a new line in the log. Regardless of whether only the URL or part of the BB code was changed.

The only thing that can seem tiring here is the large number of campaign participants. Counting according to Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns currently have 739 places in bitcoin signature campaigns. I assume that there is still a certain number of those who switch from bounty to signature, so I believe that the number of participants in the campaigns is over 1000. So maybe it will be tiring until everyone is added to the tracking system

It detects any change. See this signature. I had to search in the page source to find the one byte that changed.
I don't worry about false positives, the campaign manager can see the difference between correcting a byte and switching campaigns.

I'm curious as to whether this new "job hopper" term (never heard of it)
It's a real life term:
One of the primary reasons employees job hop is the possibility of a higher salary. Changing positions often comes with a salary increase as part of a contract. Many employees prefer to change jobs rather than wait for a raise or a bonus from their employer. If you're looking for better pay, leveraging your experience to find a new role may be the fastest way to earn the salary you desire.
I've seen people who switch jobs twice a year. That gives them quick salary increases, but their new employee can already expect them to leave again soon. That means the effort and money invested in hiring them will quickly be wasted again.

In my opinion, some caution should be had on the effects of putting signature campaigns on the same level as physical employment.

Fun idea Tongue I doubt there will ever be a need for this though. If advertisers want more traffic, it's an incentive to move around members rather than keep a long term one. Posts from 1+ week ago can appear first in popular threads. Rotating through more members means a wider variety of these scenarios. That's my 2 cents anyway.

I am no doubt interested to see where this innovation will take things next Smiley

I am thinking about false positives with this tool.
Is any change to the signature going to be detected, like adding or removing few characters by mistake?

means that one who takes the opportunities they can get, will be treated lesser than someone who stayed in another campaign for 10+ weeks?
Maybe. Maybe not. That's up to the campaign manager.
From what I've seen, being the highest paying campaign means users barely leave, but users in the lower paying campaigns leave the moment they get a better offer. I can't tell if campaign managers are going to do something with this information, but if I'd be a manager and I'd have 2 equally qualified candidates, I'd prefer the one who's most likely to stay the longest.

Some users try to cheat signature campaigns by switching their signature back and forth between campaigns twice a week. As part of my convenient service for campaign managers, I now keep logs of signature changes of participants. Example: LoyceBot's signature.
Well done!
I am thinking about false positives with this tool.
Is any change to the signature going to be detected, like adding or removing few characters by mistake?
Or it only detects when someone removes and/or changes signature?

If it's programmatic, it will know if even one character changed.

I think loyalty and signature campaigns should not be mixed, and mixing the two would mean slightly lazier campaign management (picking loyal posters over other posters) and possibly unfair treatment (higher ranked members who are preferable in higher paying campaigns will obviously be more loyal than those who are taking any good opportunity they can get accepted into).

Otherwise, this does seem like a very useful service for managers. Nice job Loyce.

I am a bit confused as to what would be cheating.
Ultimately, that's up to the campaign manager. I just make it easier to catch cheaters.

If the week starts on the 14th of sept 2023 and I do 50 good posts by  the 16th of sept 2023.

Can I leave on sept 17th go to another campaign as I fully did do the max posts for the week.
I wouldn't allow that if I'd be the campaign manager. You're not only paid for making posts, having all your posts show the signature for the agreed amount of time is part of the deal. I'm still waiting for a campaign that pays extra to users who have tens of thousands of old posts.

As a suggestion maybe this can be clarified by the campaign managers that time and posts are needed to get paid.
Usually there's a clause like: "If you remove your signature, you won't get paid". That covers it.

BTW I would want that the max posts and full time must be done if I am a campaign manager.
That's what all the signature campaign managers require but someone was able to bypass and get paid for 2 projects in a single week. Both manager was fooled by him. Don't know how long he did it though.
This project will help managers to monitor the participants whether they changed the signatrue in a given time or not.

You are obliged to wear the signature until current weeks end.
