Do you have an address for receiving the .01 BTC. I'm okay with sending it whenever, just so you have it available when you are ready.
Not yet, I don't want to overplay my trust rating, so no new deposits before the first round ends.

Damn.

Looks like we are going to catch RVN on a price jump. It's been sitting so nice and low for a few weeks. Still lots of room for growth though.

I think #11 should now be on the reserve list (sorry HCP).
DOH! Sooooo close! Tongue Oh well, that's what I get for being lazy Wink All good mate... Happy to be "first reserve" (sounds better than #11 Tongue)

And that's a pretty solid list of Alts... will be interesting to see how they all trend.

Assuming everyone is able to deposit on August 4, is that still when we are planning on starting? What is left undecided in your head, Loyce?
I've waited too long to make an overview, and now too many people tried to join. But, after deleting all incomplete entries, "only" 11 are left!

So, again, I'm asking for input on how to handle that. Hardcap at 10? Or go up?
In short: some people are okay with more people joining, and some want to keep it at 10. I don't want to change the rules during the game without unanimous support, so it'll stay at 10.
That only leaves the problem of having 11 participants now. At the first round, one person never responded anymore, and someone else took his spot. I think #11 should now be on the reserve list (sorry HCP).
My next step is to try to install a new VM and all wallets. I've had mixed success with different wallets in the past, I'll report back when I'm done.

11. HCP, STR, Bittrex, 38QBCSWkcvjiUAjJDGZXXbAqqmcQLrjXwP
HCP switched from XRP to STR because of the reserve minimum, I already have a wallet.

Archived for future reference.

I wouldn't say it's particularly moot, because the terms and conditions of Round 2 are still being worked out. We've not received an official decision on the amount of participants, coins or how it will be run this time around. Sounds like we have ways to hold the XRP and Stellar anyways, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I would happily throw my vote for allowing Timelord2067 or DarkStar_ to hold that particular alt, if LoyceV is unable to do so themselves.

Like I said... it's all rather "moot" isn't it? I wasn't quick enough to even get into the 10 was I??!? Tongue

However... lets see if I can go 3 for 3... How about Stratis (STRAT)? Does that have a reserve... I honestly haven't checked.

They have two wallets apparently... One staking, one Electrum clone... Not sure if the Electrum one can be used for Staking?? Still, would be interesting to see how staking works out for a 10 month investment.

I'll also offer to hold the XRP. I have a locally hosted XRP wallet that has the reserve met.

I'm happy to bow out to a "more trusted" user, or, split the pot?

Haha, I knew about the XRP limit but I didn't know about the Stellar one! But I think a funny strategy to force people to hold. They're always talking about it supposedly being reduced in stages, and there's quite a few scam(?) offers floating around people trying to get rid of 1000s of XRP in individual wallets of 20 XRP (buyer bets on the reserve level being lowered, letting him sell).

My alt knowledge is pretty limited but I generally don't like the whole stress of keeping updated on wallets and vulnerabilities, and if the alt doesn't have a lite wallet, I don't bother anymore. That has caused me some heartache (discarded well over 100 NANO last year when it was still being mined) but oh well.

I have an XRP wallet on an exchange and can offer to use it to host the XRP if this venture ever gets off the ground (and I'll even chip in a further 0.01 to cover the cost of the XRP to be held by someone else too...) Not sure I can generate multiple wallet addresses for it though.

These coins that have a reserve have taken a strange approach, in my opinion, but to each their own; HCP will surely sniff them all out for us. Since you already have the 20 Stellar, that seems like less of an "automatic loss" situation, so that's cool. If Stellar allows you to close the wallet and send the reserve to another address, then couldn't that process be spammed just about as easily as whatever they're attempting to circumvent?

Shows how much I know about Altcoins then! Tongue  I had no idea about this 20 XRP reserve... that's rubbish.

Oh well... not that it matters much, as I'm fairly sure I missed out on Round 2 anyway Wink But just in case... go with Stellar (STR) Wink
You do know how to pick them: Stellar has the same 20 coin reserve as Ripple Cheesy
But I do have a Stellar wallet already.

Just FYI: Stellar allows you to close the wallet, and send the remaining 20 coins to another wallet. Ripple doesn't offer that option. As far as I know, it's meant as some sort of spam protection, but it forces people to use the same address all the time, which reduces privacy.

That is something I was completely unaware of. Thanks for clarifying that for me; with something like that being a barrier for entry/exit, it would seem that it would be necessary that the participant provide the initial 20 XRP, and work out some terms with Loyce that are satisfactory. Otherwise, it might be better to just choose another coin, starting at a lose would seem silly; as you've pointed out.

Perhaps it's a good idea to have someone trusted with an XRP wallet to hold the XRP.

Help me understand; how does a 20 XRP minimum equate to an automatic loss? Not that I'm a big fan of XRP, but I'm just confused by the connecting logic between point A and your conclusion.

Sorry, my post wasn't very clear. You must keep a minimum of 20 XRP on a wallet (unless the network changes that). Those 20 cannot be spent.

Altcoin I choose: XRP

Not sure how wise it would be to pick XRP, as there's a 20 XRP reserve minimum (currently 0.001229BTC) which automatically provides a loss. This is assuming it's not kept on an exchange and that LoyceV doesn't already have an XRP wallet.

I see all opinions is against having more than 10 coins/wallets, so what about have only 10 coins maximum and have the option to add 20 participants or even more ? The first 10 participants will have there coins in and anyone over the 10 participants will only have the option to choose and add shares on already chosen coins . By that way  you can maintain 10  coins/wallets and at the same time increase the number of participants . And anyone that does not like the already chosen coins he/she can always wait for another round .
