WARNING: I say "F*CK". A Lot.
BAM! Baby.

You hit it right on the head. I already know quite a few people doing exactly that with more than just their lunch money.

Thats what I see as well when reading the financial posts re investments. It looks like people starts to open the eyes for better interest rates in the crypto world than in the real fiat world.

That would be perpetuating the status quo. However, efforts to make a direct fiat-><-LTCD connection aren't likely to progress very rapidly. Making an effort to do so would put the coin ahead of the game later when other coins realize the same and begin their own efforts. If it paid off, it would be farther down the road but the longer the delay the longer it will take - if that's the direction desired.

I'm thinking there will be another mass induction of the general public into cryptos before the end of the year. It makes sense to believe it will bring fresh new outside money into cryptos. Will it be exclusively inbound via fiat->BTC->alts or will there be another avenue?

when you say fiat investors do you mean people seeing LTCD and converting fiat to btc Just to buy LTCD?
I think that group is just the community so far. Alot of money in crypto is in crpyto already especially on the exchanges. Btc flows from coin to coin picking up new money on the way. we need to attract people with btc first then fiat.

Anyway if we get so lucky and Coindesk wants to have an interview or article, then I will do my best to explain the dark feature as well.

This is precise how I see it as well... But this is something we all have to decide and could be something we decide to be active later on when 2 gen is up running at full speed.

The 'Dark' aspect doesn't seem to be helping any of them look professional at all. So far as I can tell, 'Dark' is a magnet for traders who want to buy illicit materials via the internet and draws a different kind of attention from the people who automatically assume that the majority of the people who desire a 'Dark' coin are up to no good.

Mature minded people realize that a word is nothing more than a word. But many if not most professional type enterprises will shy away from implementing, accepting, or using 'Dark' coins due to what they interpret as the public opinion.

Getting rid of the recently but no longer trendy 'Dark' tag is a wise move. Sooner is better.

Litecoin Dark attracts alot of attention atm. i understand the whole business might not like "dark" coins. How about "lite safe" "safe lite" "lite up coin"
Personally i think we should stick with what weve got

Let me hear why you think we should keep the name ?

I am thinking this is a good train of thought. With all of the bs thrown at this coin so far (and good job for most of you/us not allowing it to affect us), a name change could be perceived as trying to "run away" from the fud and starting anew because of a new name. I think it will bring more negativity to the coin and community to attempt a name change this far into it, not to mention giving the fudders a whole new cache of ammo to spew at us.

Point taken. You could be right, but we need fiat as a crypto coin.
We know in the crypto world that "dark" is not that dangerous, but how do you think fiat holders would think ?

Instead of fearing what investors may think, why not take this opportunity to educate them? Also, the 'Dark' moniker has not hurt other cryptos, so why should we expect anything to be different with this crypto?

We have a long way to go, and maybe or maybe not the name should be changed yet, but in the long run I think its a clever decession.
Im just thinking how the Fiat investors would think...

@Xircom
regarding the name it also attracted me to the coin also. my thoughts are it would be like starting over again. it would leave ppl asking "why has the name changed" ppl only need 2 seconds in crypto to be put off and thats it. a name change imo would be bad.
Lets face the be all and end all of it is that no matter how hard we try NO crypto will dominate world currency just yet. its way too early. we should be concentrating on dominating the crypto businesses. New people will slowly fall into crypto as it becomes more mainstream. i wouldnt worry about the local shop not accepting LTCD because it says dark on it.
I says its too early yet for a reason. would you pour your life savings into the crypto if you knew a "new model" coin could be released tomorrow and take all the market share. where would this leave you with your life savings in old coin?
dont get me wrong i originally came to crypto to find a solution to the worlds financial system. then i realised its not much different yet.
Dont take this the wrong way i heavilly support crypto i just think we are a long way off mainstream addoption

Were do you see all that attention at the moment besides this awesome community ? Need to know PR wise

The only thing hurting ltcd is the bots holding down the price lol . just look at bittrex you can see when I came on and price been pushed down since. People want this coin I think. Just remember the btc volume was almost or over 300 a day in volume. Then the fork then bots lol . That is why it was added to the bigger exchanges the volume it had.

Kinda agree here.

What is the need or why to change the name? I don't get it.

You are rigth that people are holding, rich list dosent move that much any more and Mr. 12 mil only increased by 0,10% today.
Some people do. Some stocks are particularly suited for it. Same with some cryptos. BTC is better traded on a longer time scale while PPC is better on the short scale, for instance. How LTCD is traded by the majority and how it is handled by the big holders will determine which way it goes. Mr. 9million wallet is holding. I'm holding. A few other fat-cats are holding. Everyone else combined could flip-trade in the short term, but I think some of us are in a position to make the flip-traders insignificant in this regard.

If the flippers drive it nearly into hibernation, the big wallets can resurrect it with relative ease.

I do not get why we want to be on al those exchanges.
Think your investmen in these coins like it was stocks. You do not sell stocks after 3 weeks.

Start to twist your heads around the fact that the coin will change its name to bring in mr and ms petersen to the 2 gen coin, but the name has to be stunning and something that even the 12 year old remembers when he starts up his savings in the bank for the first time.... that good !
