EcoChavCrypto,
Thanks!! I did not have the time to go back to read all pages & find your post. I just recall ? posted that once, then nobody replied. (I had assumed they wrote privately.) Linux wallet is pretty big to have, because it is a true encryption avenue of communication!!
If we don't have it, we lose ALL of those LINUX aficionados as potential users/investors, which is not so good.
Thank you for your contribution to the team here!!

I would recommend everyone in crypto switch to Linux, I hear horror stories from Windows users all the time loosing coins. My advice would be to chose the distro that best suits your needs (Mint and Ubuntu are good for beginners). Make sure to encrypt your hard disk, set up your firewall and as an added layer of security a 256 bit AES encrypted VPN which will keep all communications safe, secure and your IP hidden from people wanting to steal your coins (especially people IP grabbing from IRC channels). ALWAYS encrypt your wallets. I had some bitcoin hijacked because I forgot to. A virus was injected into the blockchain and was monitoring transactions. Bitcoin was sent off within 5 seconds of a transaction clearing, this happened in Linux because the virus was in the blockchain. Its worth virus scanning every now and again despite 90% of viruses being built for Windows.
Many excellent points EcoChav! And yes! Crypto is great because it blends many different knowledge bases together under one room. If there is one skill we can all learn from each other, that would definitely have to be using your devices as securely as possible. Although loading a Linux Distro onto a virtual machine or a separate drive partition may be difficult,
at first -- it is in fact a finite number of steps and procedures that you can surely master in time; and you will be glad you took the time to learn later on when someone you know is hacked, but you were not due to taking the proper initiative.
And yes, always encrypt your wallets. VERY IMPORTANT!
