Well good afternoon all nice to see the latest news and community all involved. I personally think 48 hours to get the pools updated will be plenty of time plus get a confirmation back just ask them to please let the devs know when they are updated and were good to go  Grin

Thanks again devs for all your work. I think all 3 major exchanges should confirm their updates first with no dead time (I'm sure they would do it within 7 days).
Other exchanges are not that important, because they have ltcd trade next to zero.

That would be me.  I managed to build both 32 and 64 bit QT from 2.1.1 source (64 working fine) I also got the Windows version working fine through Wine.  I didn't receive a response for testing.  When the devs do build the new wallet with fork for Linux may I suggest building both 64 and 32 bit versions.  I can never get 32 bit wallets working on my 64 bit machine (I am sure I am not alone).  I often have to build 64 from source.  Offering both options will help those new to Linux get a functioning wallet without having to piss about with compatibility issues and the hassle of building.

Thanks so much for that!

You are not much of a chav with these skills though :-)

How long until the Linux wallet is ready? thnx.

EDIT: How long until "2GEN Whitepaper" is done?

~darylluke.

Litecoindark,

The update has the biggest priority now. When that one is successful, then the new website will be launched. Linux wallet Will be available together with the update. Of course, you can also compile Your own Linux wallet if you really needed one.

So, 2GEN Whitepaper is not even a priority? ( I thought it was almost completed. )I felt that it was....

(I saw an investor sent a linux wallet to you to test.)thanx.

I see  no problem  that you compile the linux version based on the 1.2.2 wallet as soon as it is released.
But make sure that the team tests before release.
We are working on the new homepage as well sitewise with the new wallet. We have to make this finished as well before we are able to present the coin to some new additions and goals that is further down the road map.
An important thing is as well that we get as many videos to chose from in the upcomming poll.
So get those machines burning hot making awesome videos.

EcoChavCrypto,

Thanks!! I did not have the time to go back to read all pages & find your post. I just recall ? posted that once, then nobody replied. (I had assumed they wrote privately.) Linux wallet is pretty big to have, because  it is a true encryption avenue of communication!!
If we don't have it, we lose ALL of those LINUX aficionados as potential users/investors, which is not so good.

Thank you for your contribution to the team here!!

1. litecoindark : The update has the biggest priority now
2. you : So, 2GEN Whitepaper is not even a priority?
3. Me : they never said that, they said this update is a higher priority
4. litecoindark : Ofcourse it has a priority but you must understand that some things must be done first
5. you : Wrong. He stated it is the biggest priority. (<= isn't that wht i said?)

litecoindark confirmed my response (3 & 4)

Normaly I would not response on this kind of messages because I am a independent party and it's the same now. In this case is seem to me very clear and I think everybody understand this, update has the highest priority...

Okay first of all lets all stay calm... We are a team and teams don't fall apart because of differences of opinion or slight misunderstandings, teams may not aways agree with each other but they always forgive one another and respect each other's opinions and input... Lets not fight over small details or he said she said... Shake hands like men and lets stay focused on the tasks at hand...

With that said... I too would like to see a smooth transition during this hard fork... So we need to be sure all exchanges are ready for it... 4 to 5 days should be given in my opinion to make sure all parties are ready for it... I feel like if this goes down smoothly we will have some calm waters ahead with which to continue rolling out features... But I will be okay with whatever the community decides.... If it's a shorter window then so be it... I will do my part to email the exchanges to let them know about the mandatory wallet update and hard fork!!

Cheers,

Ghosty

I agree that 3-4 days is plenty of notice for every exchange to get the new wallet, test it on their system, and get up and running. Definitely want to avoid having to undo the hard fork. Whatever you decide we, as a community, will support you. We all see great potential for mainstream adoption. I assume (gets me in to trouble often) that one of the builds will contain the switch to POS at a later block? That will also be need for longevity and to get some people to use/stash coins in wallet and keep the network running at a fast rate as mining slows down.  I am sure if it isn't added now that it can easily be implemented down the road. Anywhere from 5-15% stake option would be a nice incentive to get coins off the exchanges. Just my thoughts. Great job so far, Devs!

I agree with this statement. I also think timezones could mess up the time, so, anything under 48Hrs would produce absolute havoc.

hope price rising high in next future Smiley

For the simple fact of it, most people have already seen a 10%+ profit increase in the last two days.

I thought we had a TA person here. (Maybe post a chart with graphic comments?)

We're losing volume last 9HRS, but price is stable. This is very good for our coin!!

Wrong. He stated it is the biggest priority. He stated, not they. Are we here to nit-pick? Besides, I wasn't even talking to you. Are you Litecoindark?

DEV Litecoindark stated:

"Of course, it has a priority, but you must understand that some things must be done first. Also the 2GEN Whitepaper is very technical at this moment. Xircom and I wanna rewrite it into non-technical language, so everybody understands it. The (investor) told me that he knows about people for compiling. Compiling is not the problem but at this moment we're not going to compile the (old) wallet because a new update is on his way. "

I assume you are referring to the Linux wallet re: compiling, which makes sense. And, this is great to know that the new *2GEN Whitepaper* will come out in layman's terms, so that everybody that reads it will comprehend it best that way. GREAT idea!! VERY good news! Thank you.
