Hey you guys know I  ❤ luckyb.it but 1 thing does aggravate me about this down time. I wagered over 1btc to hit shark status on this new system and boom luckyb.it is down for 3+ days. That to me is not cool. I'm sure you guys hadn't planned on downtime but some of us are daily loyal players and took big risks to get our statuses. I think you guys should think about that for those of us whom are losing our butts daily

Same thing for me. Any news on when luckyb.it will be up again?

Luckybit, the blockchain spam doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, so what is your upcoming plans?

Perhaps its time to look at popular altcoins and move the engine to accept them in the meantime
Diversification strategies and what not although I still prefer Bitcoins myself
That or set it up to do off-chain seeding for a while instead of relying on Blockchain although that may be more complicated than temporarily increasing the minimum transaction fees.

Luckybit, the blockchain spam doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon, so what is your upcoming plans?

Well, im not experiencing difficulties in my transactions to get confirmed now compared to last week as long as my fees is .0001 the least and above so i think luckybit can open now the bet engine

Me too. But if you read the Bitcoin discussion section you can see many people with tx's unconfirmed for many days.

i know but most of those transaction have fees less than .0001BTC. all my transactions(60+) which is unconfirmed during the stress test are now confirmed with 100+ confirmations so i think the transactions which are left unconfirmed is those who send it with small fees

its not just about current blockchain services issues, it might be normal now but LB are trying to fixed past troubles as well as preventing the same issues in the future by making some adjustment. i guess we better wait a little bit longer but once it back up we gonna have a better LB without worried of the stress tests again.

ive had my transactions unconfirmed for 3+ days because of the stress tests, I wouldnt be surprised if there are still a few unconfirmed ones.

The stress test has created a new environment on the network, with new yet unseen technical challenges. We want to deal with these challenges properly before re-opening.

I don't quite get it. What is the purpose of that stress test, and who is doing it? Read a lot of FUD here on the forum not sure what to belive. I trust you guys more that random "experts". What is it all about?

Yes I would also like to know whyis this stress test being done.
The entity or entities behind it are not known. Everybody is left speculating.
The term "stress test" is maybe too gentle, some call it a clear DDoS attack on Bitcoin users.
Technically, there are a lot of transactions that remain a long time unconfirmed in memory pools (or would never confirm). Some miners took some measures to help fire fighting, but the results is that the propagation of transactions (not only their confirmation) has been affected, too. We intend to right a complete write-up of the issues that are affecting directly business like us, after we'll have open again.

And if block size is increased by devs what will be the benifit to spammers and will there be any negative effect to us users?
There will be no benefit to spammers. If the block size is increased X times, in order to spam as they are doing now, they'll have to spend X times the money they are spending now.

The effect on users of raising the block limit is controversial. At the moment, larger blocks would nullify the spamming consequences and the network would behave as it was before. (assuming the spam attack would be as it today, and not performed at a larger scale too). On a long term perspective, pretty much everybody agrees we will need larger blocks, but by how much, when and how, is a debate still happening that doesn't seem to come to a shared agreement.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this, and how it affect LB.
I agree, better go offline at make the adjustment, better safe than sorry.

I was kinda feeling like playing a few coins this fine evening, but still offline.
Hope you will get online soon again.

for "create your own game", you should open more winners so that more high/low rollers will play.

You mean more promo lines?
yup

Not bad to this suggestion, I like it. Smiley
And if admin can implement this, it can either gain more profit or loss.

this suggestion will only decrease the possible profit for the site itself as more wager and lost coins will be shared to the winner of the "create your own game" promotion

i think not, they pay 2%, not a high one.
unless they lose very major amount, otherwise it doesn't matter.

If you see the last line (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11826908) the winner got 1.142 BTC!... maybe for you that is not a high prize, but for 95% of the bitcoins users yes it is.

Open a multiple lines is not a good option, because the line change each 2 weeks, at last all the users have a chance, i haven't see the same user winning 2 times.

When admins open this promo, the idea was a "Short time promo line", and is great they keep changing the line and giving the chance to new users for create their own line.

Multiple lines can be a good idea, but i think that way the users will split the profits, prize will be smaller and that is not cool.

Is just my point of view and i know i can be wrong, but admins know "how" and "why" they do the things that way.  Wink

So what best in your opinion? larger blocks size or keeping it same?

(Note that these opinions are personal - one of the admin speaking for himself)

Like almost everybody (except Peter Todd and few others), we think the limit should be increased at some point. In the original idea of Satoshi there was no limit, and in the original code of Satoshi, the limit was 32MB simply because it was the maximum size of a packet. The current limit of 1MB was added later solely as an anti-spam measure, and assumed to be raised at some point.

However even people who are ok to increase the block size, do not agree when to do it, and by how much...

Personally, we believe a dynamic limit is the way to go. Because hardcoding is rarely a good coding decision, and in this case a larger limit that would be hardcoded would simply postpone the issue, and in the future it would be even harder to change if Bitcoin keeps growing. There are two possibilities of dynamic limits:
The first is a static predefined schedule (as one of the proposals of G. Andresen for instance, double the size every year or so).
The second is fully dynamic, and is adapted based on some algorithmic rules that take into account recent observed conditions. This is how the mining difficulty is already adapted for instance: it follows a simple rule whose input is the time between the latest blocks. Similar rules could be used to adapt the block size as well, some altcoins such as Monero use this sucessefully, so we know it is in the realm of the reasonable at least. See for instance https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/elastic-block-cap-with-rollover-penalties-1078521 or https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/38fmra/max_block_size_2_average_size_of_last_144_blocks/

Damn i totally forgot to check hows luckyb.it doing with this shitty confirmation times and such. And i come to check only to see its down :S .

Hope u guys solve it soon . Good luck.

Well with your site if we deposit some money it will take days to appear at least lb still plays thousands of bets without confirmations ..

Not sure if u refering primedice as my site ? Its not mine.

And deposits on pd show up after one confirmation . But that is not the topic for here .

What lb is doing is very risky . Idk why they did not yet switch to some sort of wallets for players where u deposit and then place bets from balance.
