With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.

I thought Chelsea would at least give us a more interesting game and give Manchester City a tough one for their time but unfortunately the visitors beat them in their own home field. This is just the new season and Chelsea are with a new coach which he’s suppose to show how good he is in this first match while playing with a big team, it’ll increase his prestige in the eyes of other coaches and also the team’s management. I don’t know how Chelsea are going to farewell in other matches but I’ll have to wait to see how they play before one can start making more assumptions or conclusion on how the Chelsea team is going to be this season.

In terms of statistics, they are not too different from Manchester City, but there are several things that make them lose in this match, such as when their defense cannot read the movement without the ball from Manchester City and of course finishing is still not too good to date.
An empty 2 score where one of the goals was scored by a former player himself looks a little painful actually but indeed in this case I don't feel strange if Chelsea lost the big match this time because it is certain that Manchester City is clearly the favorite from the start.

But of course there is a little hope for Enzo Maresca when he can slightly overshadow Manchester City's performance even though they can't get points but they must realize that their performance is still lagging behind if the goal is to be better than the previous season which means this they must continue to improve their performance to be even better.

Yes the stats shows how they were able to hold onto possession most at times even way better than Manchester city but this is certainly not new because last season we saw the same thing between this two. Chelsea to me are usually very serious against Manchester city just like last season but as usual they lack the same things they lacked last season which is lack of a clinical striker to help kill the game before it even started, Jackson was just simply doing tricks and no end product. Another major Chelsea problem is the lack of creativity in the midfield, the combination of Lavia, Caicedo and Enzo simple adds just energy to the midfield and not creativity which I think moving Palmer there could help solve because Enzo isn’t that flexible to play there
Simply put, Chelsea didn't play badly today but the opponents they faced were too strong. If Chelsea were to face a mediocre team, it seems that with the performance shown, they could easily secure full points, but once again Manchester City are still too strong to beat. In my opinion, Enzo Maresca really needs a striker of better quality than Nicolas Jackson, he is still too far away if he is expected to be the next Drogba. In addition, Enzo Maresca also seems to need to experiment more with his midfield, as you said Cole Palmer seems suitable to fill the position occupied by Enzo Fernandes.

Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca will definitely get a lot of criticism in the future if he fails to secure full points again, and many people will regret Pochettino dismissal. In addition, Manchester City still showed their identity as the rulers of the Premier League with a 2-0 victory, it makes sense when many assume that Pep Guardiola squad will continue to dominate in the future. In fact, it is very difficult to overcome Pep Guardiola tactics, even though they have worked with him in the past. Enzo Maresca and his squad must quickly forget this defeat, and think about how to win in the next match against Servette in the Europa Conference League.

Todd Boehly doesn’t look like he knows what he is doing. Most of the problems the club is facing could have been avoided if Todd Boehly allowed the managers to sign the players they wanted. I sincerely miss the Roman Abramovich - Chelsea era where mediocrity was never tolerated. Chelsea is not a club known for its patience, it’s in their DNA to win…at least it used to be. I’m impressed with how well Chelsea fans are taking the loss to Manchester City, it’s as if they have ruled out the possibility of ever winning this Pep’s side in the EPL.

In my opinion, Chelsea did not play too badly today and that's probably because Manchester City didn't play excellently. Manchester City were without Rodri and it showed. They missed him.
Chelsea on the other hand did a couple of things right but couldn't score. How does a club spend over 1.3 billion and still have a player like Nicolas Jackson as their main striker? He was part of the reason they didn't score in the first half. The backup striker of this team is an academy graduate from Barcelona who was not good enough to replace an ageing Lewandoski.

Also, why did the coach have to play Enzo Fernandes as a no 10? Isn't he supposed to be a deep-laying midfielder? Since when did Enzo become a creative or attacking midfielder?
I know it's just the first game, but these are things that a coach should have known since.
Jackson shouldn't have started the second half, Enzo should have been taken off and Palmer should have taken the number 10 role. Pedro Neto should have come in to take over the right wing.
Well, it's just the first game, let's watch and see if Chelsea can get better.

The team's board have to make more arrangements because they've to trigger improvement in the club. This season would be one of the trembling season for the Blues. They're completely out of line because they can't even possibly net a clean goal at home today against Manchester City. This is precisely one of the big games and test for Enzo Maresca but he failed woefully. The Blues have to maintain brilliant performances because they just have to get back on their heel.
I think Chelsea can improve and come up with better performances if they can work on their weaknesses. I watched the game from the first minute till final whistle and if you ask me, I think it was an end to end stuff from both sides but Manchester City were able to convert their own chances while Chelsea failed to do same. Enzo Maresca in his first game of the season faced the league champions so I wasn't expecting anything better than what we saw. I believe Chelsea can challenge for trophies with Maresca if the club continues to offer their support to the former Leicester City manager

Changing of coach is going to tell a lot on them and they are going to see the effect soonest, maybe they were thinking the previous wasn't doing enough to get them what they wanted and untill they see how the team will be struggling again to adjust to the new strategy and tactics they are introduced to them they will understand the importance of the coach who they sacked thinking he wasn't doing enough when he was already at the brink of reviving the team back to winning ways and hopefully they would see a chance at the premier League title sometimes soon but then let's give them some more time and see how well they will do after now.

Chelsea were far from their desired expectations due to changes in management and also a change in coaching it was hoped that they could show a better performance this season, but in today's match they lost again and it was a bad start for them this season. Tood Boehly has of course spent a lot of money in overhauling the team with the recruitment they have done but it was in vain because there was no good development in their game.
I discouraged my intention to bet on Chelsea because I thought the match they played would be very difficult to predict and the result was that they lost and that's what happened.
If you look at their poor pace, of course it will be very difficult for them to achieve their target this season, namely qualifying for the Champions League.

It's good for Arsenal to start the season with a win. The harmony between Saka and Havertz is very good. Raya made a very important save when the score was 1-0. Arsenal finished the match with a clean sheet. There are positives against Wolves, we will see what will happen against stronger opponents. There is a more difficult match next week, against Aston Villa. Liverpool and Manchester City also started with win. The competition will be exciting again.
Arsenal usually start the season well and in high spirit but along the line, they become overwhelmed. Last season was their golden opportunity to lift the EPL trophy but we saw how they allowed Man City came from behind to snatch it from them. Therefore, I'm not raising my expectations this season even though it is exciting seeing the beautiful performance they showcased yesterday. I will only wish things are different for them this season because they have really tried to remain in top 4 almost every season yet no major trophy.
Their performance is sometimes unpredictable where they can be good and immediately play bad at a time but indeed this usually starts in the middle of the season.

This has always been a problem that Arsenal have always had in the last few seasons and until now Arteta still hasn't been able to fix it, now they are still one of the favorites but with so many schedules in close proximity it has also backfired for Arsenal which in the end their performance has decreased over time.
In addition, the mental problems of the players also need to be considered because this can be disturbing for Arsenal. Last season, we could even see that their own fans made fun of their players where Havertz was always the butt of jokes for fans because he could not make a good contribution. This actually increasingly has an impact on performance where when Arteta wants to give this player more opportunities to make his performance change, it must be broken with negative words from his own fans.
This must be improved a little more because after all, when they want the best, as much as possible they support the decisions of the coach and the club so that the results become one continuity so that the players are also not too burdened with great pressure.

Chelsea looked good and judging by the statistics were not much weaker than City, but 0-2 at home is 0-2 at home. At least now we can say that City are fine (unfortunately haha) and Chelsea are unknown. In the end, the defeat to the current champion does not mean anything. In the next round Chelsea play Wolves and this game will be decisive in relation to the whole season - if they do not win, then with 1 (in case of a draw) point after 2 rounds most likely "forever" will fall behind the top-4.
In terms of statistics, they are not too different from Manchester City, but there are several things that make them lose in this match, such as when their defense cannot read the movement without the ball from Manchester City and of course finishing is still not too good to date.

City is burning right now. These are the actual deal; they are not some pre-season fluke. Rotating the team, Guardiola is a genius who keeps everyone fresh and hungry. You create a winning machine in that manner. Chelsea, however? They struggle. Maresca has a difficult work, but to be honest, their onslaught is ineffective. Jackson cannot strike the broad side of a barn. You can't finish but you control the game? That is a formula for catastrophe

Haaland's hammering them in for fun meanwhile. That is the difference. City is killing teams, not only winning. Chelsea needs to wake up and smell the coffee. They will be steamrolled if they cannot find a means of scoring

Chelsea started the season in a bad way. They were very active in the transfer window but strangely they made no effort to sign a classy striker. Their attack was actually quite good, but that wasn't matched by a neat finishing touch. If they only rely on Nicolas Jackson then it will cause their front line to become bogged down. Last season they were really lucky to have Cole Palmer but it seems like many people are wary of him this season, so I think it will no longer be easy for Cole Palmer to move and score goals.
In the transfer season, Chelsea made as many transfers as possible and rebuilt the team, but in the first match it was seen that they were not very organized on the field. Manchester City opened the season with a victory and Haaland scored the opening goal for City. Manchester City will grind the teams this season, there is no doubt that the team is in great form, each player and they have an incredible desire on the field.

Haaland played his 100th match for Manchester City today and scored a goal. Yes, he will hammer other teams this season.

Chelsea did their best, Manchester City is one the biggest and toughest club in England premier League that is always very hard to crack, the both teams performance was nice though Manchester City is the team of the match irrespective of their 2 goes to zero against Chelsea, they played massively well and will do even better in their subsequent matches, Chelsea tried and conceived only two goals probably because it is their home, and I wonder what will happen when they are going to play in Manchester City home, thou we can conclude yet until then.

It's kind of funny you know when everyone expect Chelsea to win Manchester City, not like Guardiola has been changed as the head of Manchester City coach, not like the squad were reshuffled or some players were sold and they think Chelsea is going to perform a miracle or some kind of magic when everyone are fighting already for top of the league, maybe not today but Chelsea doesn't has what it takes to win the league or perhaps I'm the one not yet convinced about them.

There is going to be another run up again like last season. Manchester City mean business and they are not yielding to any motivation to Chelsea and they don't want to allow them win the Premier League but I'm skeptical if there is any serious team in Premier League that can put Manchester City to their place. I mean that team Manchester City will be afraid to face anytime they have a match because there is none right now.
It would be unrealistic for any of us to imagine that Chelsea will end up lifting the Premier League trophy this season or next season. From what I can say about Chelsea, Chelsea is at another round of new beginnings with a new coach and new players. I wonder how long it will take for the coach and players to adapt to a new pattern of football and strategy.

From the match today, I can see that Enzo wants to introduce a dominating football style like the one of Manchester City and Arsenal. Although he achieved that a little in the second of the match against Manchester City, but Chelsea's center defense was the problem. It was easy to maneuver by Manchester City players, giving room for an open space for Manchester City to score their two goals against Chelsea.

This season will be another tough season for Manchester City. They may have a fantastic win of matches but it will be a narrow match points gap they will use to top other teams contesting for the PL trophy

Arsenal have been one of the favorites to win the title in recent seasons, so I'm not surprised about the win against Wolves. Arsenal will also be favorites to win 3 points in the next match against Aston Villa, of course that would be great if Arteta really continues to win.

Even though Aston Villa is playing at home for next week's match, it is normal for Arsenal to have a higher probability of winning. Arsenal's performance in the last few seasons has been quite stable, but unfortunately they always fail when the season is almost over. Many people expect Arsenal to stop Manchester City's title dominance this season, but City are a very difficult team to stop. Only Chelsea lost among the top teams, they lost by City today.
Arsenal managed to get 3 points when they faced Wolves and I even predicted that Arsenal could score more goals in this match because they played quite well and were also able to make lots of attacks. Of course, looking at Arsenal's performance in this match, I am quite sure that they are very favorites to become champions this season. Saka played quite well where he managed to record 5 shots and one assist and scored one goal. He was an important part of Arsenal's victory in their first match this season.

So, looking at their rivals, Manchester City also managed to win at Chelsea's home ground. Haaland is still a frightening specter for the Chelsea defense because he played quite well and managed to immerse the enthusiasm of the Chelsea players in this match. Chelsea are still having difficulty showing their good game even though they are playing at home but they are not playing very well.

I can't stop laughing at this Super Sunday game between ChelseavsMan City, like what in God's name is Jackson doing on that pitch? Is it not better for Chelsea to play with 10 men than having him (Jackson) running and making a mess of himself, even if the ball was an offside call he can't convert it, is a shame. Honestly the guy is not fit to be the striker of Chelsea and it pains me that Enzo Maresca knows all these things but always have him start this particular game. What happened to Broja? Bring him back to the senior team. At least he can do better than this runner Jackson.
If I count correctly then Jackson missed three golden chance, one was an off-side trap, he was careless to stay alert. Imagine someone else in his position with the same opportunity. Chelsea could at least draw the match. It turns out after the 2nd goal Chelsea lost all their enthusiasm to score. City started as they were suppose to start.

Nothing different from Jackson of last season and this season, first game of the season yes but still this guy hasn't improved in any way, those chances be it offside or not as a striker convert it first and wait for VAR or the ref to make his call but he just played the ball with no form of seriousness. Back then when Chelsea had Didier Drogba, you can see the seriousness in him off or not he must make sure he finds the ball in the back of the net but now we have clowns at Chelsea making the effort of the midfielders go in vain, I'm just angry when I saw those opportunities being wasted by Jackson.

I was shocked to see Enzo Fernández wearing the captain’s armband for Chelsea after his racist chanting in the Copa América. Despite the supposed “show of support” the club and his teammates have given him, Enzo gave a terrible performance today. This was his chance to prove his worth in the team and he flopped badly. Overall Chelsea was playing like it was a preseason game. This is not the performance I expect from a club that has spent loads of money signing new players.
Chelsea has not yet ascertained the level they are supposed to be, can't tell they performed too bad neither did they play badly just alone there are more rooms open for improvement, team spirit improvement and per player. Much was really expected from Enzo, but then he failed to deliver, falling too much and unable to handle opportunity passes in the opponent box which should have been converted to goals. Mancity continues to prove what it takes to hold the Premier league title for four consecutive seasons, they had the points at last but clearly it wasn't an easy victory.

Newcastle United won at home against Southampton with a single goal. Despite being down to 10 men in the early minutes of the game, Newcastle kept going to win the match with a goal towards the end of the first half. Although they lost control of the game after being reduced to 10 men, they insisted on not conceding a goal.
Newcastle United have built there team to some level that comes with a reputation as one of the top teams in the EPL. Recently promoted Southampton isn’t there match, yeah I get it that they’ve played in the EPL but, they aren’t a match for Newcastle United as it is. Even with 10 men, you can be rest assured they wouldn’t lose against Southampton, a win however would have been difficult but, they managed to seal it in this one anyway. Isak couldn’t get on the score line but, managed an assist and that’s okay too.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, held on to the league last year, but this season their relegation potential will not be as high as before. I can say that with Nunu espirito santo they will climb up the table. In the first game of the league, despite playing well, they couldn't win, but they will give their opponents a hard time in the coming weeks.
