A DDOS attack doesn't have much to do with security or hacking IMO.

It basically means there are too many (fake) visitors. It's like when you have a store and the attacker gets thousands of people to stand before the entrance so no one else can enter. This doesn't affect the security of the store, but it is a bit unfortunately that you cannot enter. A lot of bitcoin (gambling) sites are attacked by this, mostly because the attackers demand money to stop. Of course no one should ever pay these extortionists. I do not know if this was actually the case at MagicalDice. You can google "DD4BC" if you want to see some more details about the biggest group doing this.

Yea nico is right, we had nobody asking money from us to stop the attack but we will for sure see stuff like that soon.
I think as dice website you need to go through every phase of people that want to harm your site.

Theres another thread here claiming that you are scamming players by changing their seed and then waiting for them to roll again, care to comment?

If this is true, then it is possible for you to pick a seed that will make them lose and would confirm that you are scammers.

I replied to the thread explaining exactly what happened. Nobody was effected by this.

For the people that aren't aware we're currently hosting a 5 BTC competition. This competition is different to last time, you don't need a lot of money to win. Somebody that is "poor" can come out on top and take 1st place. So you will ALL have a chance to win this!

For more information on this epic giveaway visit this thread - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-unlikeliest-win5btc-in-prizes13th-16th-septembermagicaldicecom-1179656

Note: This competition is hosted by Unibtc. He is currently up roughly 50 BTC on us which is definitely scary considering we've only been open for 2 weeks.

pretty sure the mods said it was someone ddossing, but the site it's back up and running smoothly now though

Why every new site with a great potential to develop always hit by ddos? It happened to other site that I played, it is the same condition
