If it can produce alot of money then yeah I can see them doing a rematch. Floyd is still in the news and wants to be in the spotlight again so it could very well happen.
Just look at Mcgregor he wants a rematch just for the money. So why not pacquiao?

McGregor/Pacquiao needs Floyd much more than Floyd needs McGregor/Pacquiao.  Grin

But probably Floyd is thinking about a different opponent. And he is right when he prefers someone else. A fresh opponent may bring him more revenue when compared to a repeat rival. On top of that Floyd is already 42 years old and he knows that the time window for him is running out.

Sorry but this is kind of a stupid move if he (Manny) ever decides to have an exhibition match with an MMA fighter. I don't see this happening while he is active in boxing. Maybe when he's retired?

Does Rizin Fighting Federation sounds familiar to you? Yes its the same Japanese mixed martial art group that signed Floyd Mayweather in a exhibition match with Tenshin Nasukawa that ended up in just 1 round but the contract that Manny Pacquiao signed is unique or shrouded in mystery as there is no stipulation that he will fight anyone, but Fighting Federation is asking Manny Pacquiao to fight Takanori Gomi also a mixed martial artist.

If there is no stipulation that he is going to fight anyone in their roster then what will be his role in the federation since he is still an active boxer, he is going to fight definitely, and if they asked to fight someone in their roster he will go for it, he is afraid of no one, I hope they'll pick a fighter that is much better than Mayweather's opponent in Japan.

I don't know about this Rizin Fighting Federation. Is there any news on whom will Manny Pacquiao fight? When I see that the OP said "mixed martial arts" I think that Pacquiao could be at the disadvantage. Imagine, a boxer which uses only his knuckle to fight vs a martial arts with the combination of kick and punch?

Me too, haven’t heard of Rizin Fighting Federation but if incase Manny will have to fight an MMA fighter then I think it is fine knowing he has experience a lot of fights already. I don’t agree with Manny on a disadvantage of he fights in MMA because Manny is strong he is known for his strong punches so long as Manny will punch the opponent hard enough and don’t let it tangle him or get hold of him then it is okay. I watched MMA fight before and I witnessed a previous boxer who already won couple of fights against an MMA fighter and to my surprise the boxer won, I think it is more of the strategy to always get ahead of your opponent, at that match the boxer just keep on punching whenever he got a chance and he didn’t let the MMA fighter get hold of him until the MMA fighter can’t take the punches anymore.

I only heard it when Mayweather fought a fighter in that circuit but this circuit is unknown because we don't have this on our TV circuit, they want huge promotion for their organization and getting big names in the sport is a good way to promote their organization, Mayweather and Pacquiao is such a good choice, although they would have to spend millions to get these two fighters.
Maybe this is the reason why they signed up Manny Pacquiao in Rizin Fighting Federation, to hep them promote the company by being par of their roster or perhaps owner. Remember that Manny Pacquiao is also part of One FC, an MMA promotion based in South East Asia that is starting to gain grounds in MMA.

Never heard of this Rizin Fighting Federation till now. Another promotional fight and I'm sure that sports fans would love to see Manny fight an MMA fighter.

Maybe your right but Floyd doesn't really have anyone left to fight and the way he is blowing through money he may some really big payouts before he is too old to continue boxing.

Floyd is already 42 years old and at the most he has 2-3 years left. And during this time, we can expect at the most 5 fights from him. The problem is that the welterweight class is looking very thin and there are a limited number of individuals who can offer good competition to Floyd. His fight against McGregor paid him around $300 million and another 5 fights can get him well above $1 billion.
I disagree. Welterweight is the most stack up division in boxing. We have Crawford and Spence and then Porter and Thurman. We also have Danny Garcia and Vargas. The thing is Floyd doesn't want to fight those champions at this stage of his career.

In two months from now, Manny Pacquiao will be fighting against Keith Thurman. Probably Thurman will take on Floyd, in case he wins his fight against Manny (he is the favorite according to the betting odds). But that possibility is for 2020 and not for 2019. I think Floyd doesn't have any immediate plans to fight anyone this year (especially after his low profile MMA fight a few months back).

Some still think that there is a chance of another rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather.  The amount of money to be had if they fought again would be immense and Floyd already has career winnigns over one billion.

I don't think that it will happen. Manny Pacquiao has tried his best to schedule a rematch, but Floyd Mayweather has rejected his request outright. We can't blame Floyd for that as he is having much better options when compared to Pacquiao. Also he may be thinking that a rematch may accrue less revenue when compared to the original match.

Reading and analyzing, seems that the promoting company wants manny to carry the business, knowing how well they produced regarding to Mayweather's fight they've got lots of money to flow, now it's Manny's turned and convinced the Japanese audience who adoring the Pacman to buy tickets and watch him inside their rings.

Yes. Most probably. Manny Pacquiao is a well known boxer all around the globe. And watching him fight an MMA fighter would bring tons of spectators to the said company which is equal to tons of money in return. However, I remembered the fight of McGregor against Mayweather. I just don't think that they should cross their lines. I mean, if they are good at boxing or MMA, the maybe they should just focus there. It's not like I don't have faith in Manny that he could win the fight inside the octagon. It's more of a concern with his reputation. Well, the decision still lies with Manny and their team. Let's see what'll happen.

Since Mayweather also fought in Rizin and Asian public likes freak matches, maybe Manny should fight Mayweather by MMA rules ? Cheesy
Best idea yet  Grin
I say they do it in Dubai and are each paid 450million Euros
This is a big joke,  money is coming only from the revenue of the event and I don't think the usual supporters would appreciate watching them do this.
It's a big loss from the promoters side if they will pay this kind of huge amount.

I disagree with you that this is a big joke.  If there are wealthy people willing to pay, participants willing to compete and plenty of money to go around then no one will be laughing at the revenue generated.
There has been many fights like this that have happened in Asia over the years (think Muhammad Ali) as the Asian culture appreciates side shows like these.

Dont ever estimate the wealth of those people specially into those places/countries yet they can pay up uptfront without the need of any revenue if they
do really like for the fight to happen.Considering that dubai is really a very rich country and paying up that amount wont really be a problem but i doubt
who would be the one?On topic reply, If pacquiao do fight with these exhibitional fights then its none of our business.

On the contrary, promoters are willing to give this athlete huge payday because at the end, they all know that they will give the full benefits. If there are no incentives on their part, they wouldn't risk by paying this huge amount. Just remember DAZN's contract with Canelo a whopping $300 million, I'm sure it's calculated risk on their end, but they know they can really get the output when people starting to buy tickets watching Canelo fights. Business is business.
