I don't think this is true. Why do we judge it without scrutiny? If you know that this ico is scam, spread it for everyone to know.
Even though many ICOs are scams, don't give up. Cryptocurrency still has many offers for you to earn money. If you are tired of projects and tokens or new coins that are scams, then switch to investing coins and tokens that exist in the market, choose the most promising, do the best analysis possible. Stop wasting energy on useless new tokens and coins. Now there is IEO, if indeed you are interested in new products then choose a compatible exchange such as Binance, Okex, Kucoin, etc.
More than 80% ICO projects turn out to be scams. I am also holding some shitcoins myself, whose fault is this? Mine, totally mine. You have to be precautious in this business, and not depend on others for doing that work for you.
I can tell that in the future you are going to do really well in this market because you accept the responsibility of your mistakes, most of the investors in this market when they find out that they have lost their money instead of accepting the responsibility they try to find someone to blame and when that is over instead of learning about their experience they keep trying to find someone to give them a reliable advice about which coins could be a good investment, and as you may guess they keep losing money until the day comes when they have no more money to lose.

The cryptocurrency idea is to create a free worldwide decentralized ecosystem. Free for all, for honest but also for dishonest people. It is free market and you should protect yourself before losing your money. You don´t like it? Then you do not understand crypto.
They get scammed still because they lack knowledge and they always feel on taking some precautionary measures before joining a certain campaign. They should first read the whitepaper as a whole and not just a scan, also they should check the members or the team. If you still get scammed, then you've picked an useless ICO. It is your responsible already to pick and find a good ICO so you can't really blame it on them. The number of ICOs are still growing so it is very difficult to find a good ICO definitely so be careful and smart always on picking. If everything have good side then you can participate those projects like this will be good successful.

Because it's a free for all market, it doesn't mean that people should be dishonest to the extent of scamming others. It only shows how degenerated moral standards have fallen, because if we still had morals, trust would have been very easy.

I don't think the IEO scam accusations are more than ICO's scam accusations, the difference suggests to join the IEO. Black chains covered the ICOs, so as a majority of the crypto investors I prefer to believe in the IEOs. The scammers can take out the hands even after the token is get listed. Breaking the exchange rules and delisting from the exchanges are the nearest steps to call the project scam. Many complain about fraud at ICO, it's natural, every ico that appears either new or old has lost investor confidence and the chasing of prizes, the crypto market is open freely so we must be clever in preventing the occurrence of sammers, we must find a safe space so investors are safer in playing in the crypto room going forward

I think we can't stop this scammers anymore, because they are everywhere now. ICO actually is not bad only the team, or developer was most often the problem, because they are scammers and opportunist to deceive many in this field of business in crypto world. That's why as an investors and bounty hunters we should be wise and careful in choosing ico project campaign.
It's really hard to find a potential, quality ICO project because most of them are scams. But altcoins from ICOs are really hard to survive in the market now. BTC accounts for most because it is so large. Perhaps the altcoin season has ended from here unless there's a new trend coming back.

While we keep complaining of scam projects, people are there making profit, like already said, it's a free market, I mean the crypto space, where you find all sorts of individuals, what is needed in the crypto space is complete research so as not to fall into a scam project, because every business has it's good and bad, so crypto isn't an exception but we need to be cautious and open minded.
