Before investing in a project, it is necessary to study it carefully. If the project team works hard, then it's not scammers.

This is not an indicator if the team works hard - if it is the beginning of the project they may work hard to attract more investors. And there are a few examples when team showed "great results" and right after ICO they stop doing everything and disappear. But DYOR is needed of course. To choose the right team, with existing teammates at least Smiley

Centra is definitely one of those scam projects, there was a time around December last year thatvthere were thousands of cryptocurrencies on the coinmarketcap and when you combine that with the hundreds of ICOs happening each month, then you will realize that over 80% of ICOs are scams and only a few tokens will survive the market conditions so you have to be really picky about the ICOs you invest in.

Many projects will never be able to implement ideas. The team lacks experience, or the idea is too complex, do not collect enough investment

That is normal that happens with the new technology, remember that there is no money for everyone, and undoubtedly many projects will fail before achieving something significant, especially now that the market is in decline, it is much more difficult to maintain.
The fact is that not only the bad condition of the crypto-currency market negatively affects the development of many projects. Investors do not want to invest their money, because a lot of the project is being developed by scammers to steal their money.

that's the main problem.
unfortunately there was some fake ICO.

these projects as well as all others now have a hard time to survive.

I think that the icos will not bear their fruit until a few years later.

Currently on the coinmarketcap site only about 1590 projects compared to at times more than 1700 projects. They have left many projects without developers or scam projects. I personally invested in some of these projects and lost a lot of money like bitconect and centra. Do you trust the projects you are investing in and will keep them for a long time until they succeed or are they just looking for profit in the short term?

I also researched a few projects and decided to invest in them. The first time Dev works very hard and constantly updates, but over time updates slowly and it gradually dies. We only know the exact altcoin scam after a long time of operation

I think soft-cap projects are projects that are very likely to die in the future because they have little capital to maintain, community and user interest high

Yes, I also faced the same problem, especially with the Centra project, and there are lots of the same projects - Patientory, VSlice and others, that appeared on the start of ICOs epoch, now I choose projects more carefully, and pay attention to the good idea and working product.

I also noticed lot of dead projects. It seems like crypto becoming more popular for cheating and scamming people. Unfortunately there is no useful tool for preventing, dont trust even ICO rating sources

were they projects in the first place? That should be the first question to ask if those projects were ever established. Some Icos just raise the monies from investors, share the tokens and the team disappear into thin air. In that case what it means is that they never developed the said product in the first place. So the token will slowly die out of the market as quickly as possible since there is no product backing or a team to push the product forward. That is what is happening to most of the projects after ico.

Every case experienced by a failed project has almost the same cause. Many people are easily tempted by income from crypto. With whatever knowledge they have, without thinking long they dare to create a new project and produce a new product. Their abilities that are not yet capable enough so that they do not have good fundamental preparedness. So the product has not been well received in the community because the ideas, concepts, and prospects offered are still not attractive enough. This made investors reluctant and hesitant to invest so that they failed to reach the target and in the end, the project stopped midway and died.

Agreed. In any case, if you communicate with the team and participate in the life of the project, it is easy to understand the scammers in front of you or not.

It all depends on the investment strategy. I like for a long-term investment and do not invest in projects below the top 50, these projects for a long time already exist and work, and I doubt very much that close. So choose only high quality ICO, which will bring a good profit. Yes, the market is a lot of dead projects, you should try to recognize and ignore. All good investment!

There seems to be, we'll have to wait and see how the active ones progress though, still plenty of time for some to do well.

I wouldn’t say that the ICO market is dead, but the community is more educated and they are choosing much better projects. Hype no longer works on the community so projects are going to have to begin to bring real value if they want to raise thousands of Ethereum  in the future.

Investments in ICO in the course of a half year bring very little profit. In 2017, my vzlyad was the dawn of ICO and the profits then were very large. This year, all the projects I have invested in have brought me only one loss.

I think that 80% of projects with capitalisation under 1 million dollars are dead already or will be dead soon. Unfortunately some developers don't know what doing with the project after the launch.
