@TheUltraElite you have been in the forum for about 8 years now. You have seen the good, the bad and the worst of the forum. You are aware of forum policies more than anyone here is aware of. I think you will be the right person to apply for merit source for the local board. I don't think anyone has will oppose your application.
I do try to give back what merits I earn to this section of the forum. However getting merits in from the global sections everyday is tough and not having a merit source dedicated to the section sucks even hard.
Merits only awarded in certain boards on global section and possibly between the names that everyone is familiar with.Currently, there is no merit source for Indian board, and I have been repeating on multiple threads someone who is reputed, legendary and been here longer can apply for the position. As I see you can be one of that contender, so if you are interested feel free to drop the application on Meta and I am sure everyone here will be supporting it.

I do not think merit is the problem here as there was a time when merits were distributed generously, sill activities were an issue. I remember you posting a few topics of your own and others on a merit thread run by hugeblack and he distributed a few merits. As per my understanding, we can easily get merits from the global source by either contacting them or by using their merit threads. The whole issue is the negative policy of the government that has stopped newbies from enrolling in the forum and another thing is that not everyone is aware of the forum's existence and that there is an Indian local board.
When I checked last time, hugeblack locked his merit giveaway thread for local boards and I don't think any other merit source has a thread especially to improve the engagement in Local boards.
Now we are on our own, we can get merits from local boards and spend it here, but it won't be the same as merit generated by source every month.
If government's negative policies towards crypto is stopping people from India to adopt crypto then you are wrong, I have been watching the Reddit India closely the community is getting bigger and bigger.
People may not know the existence of Bitcointalk but they will get the results on top only if the engagement of Bitcointalk India grows, so the results will appear on top when someone search crypto - India in search engines.
Government not being friendly is one of the reason but there are other countries which are more hard on cryptos still their local community is keep on rising.

Thanks a lot, guys for your concern, you guys are the best if I can say in terms of bonding. I got a temp ban for a week @Bureau and I am now back active and rocking. I know who was behind it and that is the reason I am no longer interested in coming back to this board. If possible I will share my thoughts and if I have merits I will spend it on posts that are worthy enough to get merits.

I will try to be more active here to increase the number of posts as there are a few pieces of information that I think are suited here. The current issue that has been created by the government is one of the main reasons why we are not seeing new members here. All of us still can revive the board by only being active and contributing here.
Even the small community of active members feel exhausted after keep trying and trying. The unavailability of merit distribution is one of the main reason why Indians are active more on global board than Local board so I am thinking anyone who is somewhat established can apply to be a merit source to reactivate.
Just a question to whoever active here, who can be the perfect candidate to apply for merit source?
You are right about merit distribution but we can't do anything for that as we don't have any active merit source. I doubt we will have any senior members who would be interested in applying for merit source application. I have been using global boards to get merits and to some extent I have been successful. I think that reactivating the local board is a lost hope. I will still remain active here and keep on posting from my part.
You guys are welcome to apply for merit source and please don't think that I am out of this board. Someone fraud who made me believe that the local board would be able to achieve what was it before came out to be be a non Indian.
His agenda of getting jobs from design from the forum got accepted as he was using our local board and he still gets it a s he is the merit source. He is a fraud and he knows it.

I can only say that it is a good comeback by our local board, largely due to the contest that was extended last month. I think another contest would make us beat the Pakistan local board. Someone should think about some contest to get our local board on that position.

Bitcoin price has been rising fast lately and this is a good time to take some steps to increase the activity on this board now.
How about organizing a contest for reddit users to create an account on bitcointalk.
For example: We will post a thread on reddit and ask people to create account on bitcointalk and make a useful post in the Indian section along with reddit username to qualify for a lucky draw.

Compared to other board like Bangladesh and Pakistan the number of active members are very less here, so we can only climb further if new members join that hopefully happens since the price started to surge already before the halving.
It is very difficult to gain activity on the local board as a handful are regular on the board. I am again going to try to increase the activities by starting a contest on our favorite sports. I do not know how effective it would be as I understand a lot of Indians hate to be on this board due to its past. I have committed myself in getting our local board at par to our neighbors and if everything goes in our way then we will be able to gain a good outcome in graphs.

Agreed with your point! There are Indians who are active on other boards I have seen them posting everyday. They do come once in a while to the local board, if they contribute on a daily basis then the activity should increase. I don't think with Bitcoin price going up we might see an influx of new members on the local board. The condition created by the government are not suitable for crypto anymore.

There is one mistake with the number of merits shared since the November month ended with 61.
December should have started with 61 as well but you have written it as 31

Looks like we need to work more towards engagement on the local board. I am planning another contest which will be rewarding those who are very active on the local board and there would be a few more requirements. I will ask everyone on that list to be active in order to earn free and extra Bitcoin. There is no harm in earning extra money when it is available in away that helps you as a user and the local board.

Except for the number of posts being created in December, we managed to get to the worst activities on the local board compared to November. I am assuming the post amount increased because there was competition and few of us were part of a signature campaign that required more posts every week to earn. Otherwise, I do not think anything different happened in December, and looks like business as usual in January. The condition won't change after halving as we can only see a few new users who are active here.

A great improvement from 2022 can be seen in 2023 and I am not suprised about it. In 2024 I have something planned to make this year better than 2023. I need all of you and in particular 10 of you to be more active than you are now. There would be more contest that I have planned exclusively for Indian members and with halving approaching I feel the numbers should increase. Conditions are not that friendly as they were in 2021 but people are till to date are crazy about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I am hopeful that we would be one of the top contributors in the forum for 2024.

That's a good progress for the year. The most important part is that the number of posts increased by more than 2x times.
That directly contributes to merits shared which increased by nearly 10x times.
I hope this progress continues now that crypto is booming and India is on top of the list of crypto users.
We need to bring those people's attention to this board somehow.

November stats are not that good and the same can be expected for December. We are like four or five guys who are regular on the board and we cannot make those numbers go up. New members are hardly been seen here, those who were active might have stopped due to not getting merited on their efforts. October was good for the board do not know what happened last month.

Damn, the numbers have drastically decreased this time. Almost all the categories are reduced to more than half.
Although I kinda had an idea it would be low this time but didn't expect it would decreased by more than half.
Also, I am surprised to see how the Russian board is having so much strength. There's no match to it.

Thanks to @BitcoinSmith for breaking it down! Got a notification of the main thread and, after a bit of scrolling, finally located where I was mentioned.
Our board is doing better than last month, and I am a bit more active this month.
The activity can be increased only via collective contribution so be active here as much as possible, and I want everyone to aim for the leaderboards which is small achievement though. Our board is doing better than last month, and I am a bit more active this month.

I told you guys to not get discouraged by the last month statistics and look when it led us to. I got a nice Bronze medal here with Pakhi and Smith owning the Gold and Silver. Congratulations to you both!

Appreciate your effort to track these details and working towards increasing traffic towards local board, I think the reason for low for fall is that we don't have active topics and important topics which will help user excel in the crypto and how they can build portfolio, how they can earn through crypto, the best exchange and trading techniques which they can utilise while trading from India, how to avoid scams in crypto, Etc. I had been occupied but will surely take sometime off to help the community grow and prosper. As this should be the one stop shop for all the Crypto relate stuff by we need more crypto enthusiasts for that. Hope more people like you join hands to achieve that.
Thanks for the encouragement, I am trying to contribute in anyway I can and feels good to know its appreciated. As mentioned we achieved 2x from the previous month stats but it should continue in the same way without the dip or else things might go wrong again.
I think the best option available to us is to come up with some kind of competition within the local board to make it become the number one active board in all local boards.
Already there is Local Board Post Race which is updated by bitmover.
I had only one merit left and I gave it to you because of your constant effort and dedication. The improvement and the traffic are going up because of the dedication of everyone active on the local board. I won't mind if in the future we as an Indian community outperform our neighbors. I actually thought about formatting the stats in table format but for now I tried to keep it simple and neat and in future we can make the things better.

I agree! Rather going to the main thread and then trying to debunk through those updates it is better to summarize everything using this thread. As pawanjain said you don't need to reply to the existing thread every month. Update the OP with the summary and we can then comment on it. I would be happy if we start suggesting what we can do to increase the traffic on our local board. On this same thread every month. I feel you should unpin New people joining asap. I just went through the thread and it getting spammed royally. I can even see non Indians newbies using it to introduce themselves. It doesn't make any sense, when it is clearly mentioned that the board is for Indians.
Recently I filed my ITR and felt these new platforms are over charging users for calculating VDA & for filing ITR. I think we as a community with the help of webtricks should create a guide thread. The thread should teach on how to file ITR using ITR2 & 3 form. What do you think?

Exactly true. This was why I & webtricks collaboratively wrote and replaced two outdated topics in the board. One was about Taxation and another was about Bitcoin Resources. As of now, we do not have any unofficial rules governing us in our local board but we can work upon that and create a topic for the same replacing the old Unofficial Rules created by S_D.

I guess it happened because of the frustration post created by @pakhitheboss. He has been consistently creating topics and trying to engage everything on our board. I do understand that you Bitcoin Smith was the reason everything happened. Hoping we go rank up to where Russians
Every active member came back to the local board for two reasons. First being the raffle I feel by @Heisenberg_Hunter. He has been more active than he was earlier. The next would be @webtricks who helped everyone getting scared on the new tax, understand the basic, which was you pay 30% on capital gain and nothing else.
We can keep on encouraging everyone by meriting only those topics that are contributing to local board. Raffle doesn't make any sense as we don't have a huge traffic on our board. Young generation kids are generating millions of posts across social media every few minutes from India and get nothing really beneficial for them so hopefully the things will turn around in some way.

Yeah that is the word that hit me when I see the changes so I wanted to share with others too that we are doing good. Bull run really bring more news about cryptos to India but they are not really aware of bitcointalk existense even if they do the only place they stuck with is Bounties.Something is better than nothing which is why the growth we are seeing today is a positive sign for us to keep contributing in this board.
