Jonathan,

Here is an issue I am having. I have repeated this over the past few days over and over. I'm using the demo version to evaluate before purchase, but I am having issues where the bot buys, but does not sell once hitting a sell target. This keeps happening and often leads to a stop loss as the sell order never gets placed. It appears that it is a connection issue of sorts with Poloniex. I get a message that there is no BTC to sell, however there is (the amount bought at the last (buy) signal.

I have included a screenshot shortly after the sell order was indicated in the logs (but not placed) - So the timing of the screenshot shows the sell point slightly after it initially triggered, so I am aware that in the image it does not look like the sell point was reached, but in fact it was moments earlier.

Here's a screenshot to show what I'm talking about.

Here's the log text:

This is what continues to happen... Scroll down for the most recent failed sell...

Hey,

we will have a look. Are you maybe running a second bot that sold the remaining funds? Or via a manual order?
Can you reproduce it in the demo or was it just a temp. thing?

All the best,

  Rene

Just one bot running. No manual orders. Still happening. It seems to be an issue between Leonardo and Poloniex communicating with each other. The communication seems a bit erratic between the two. I can actually watch the sell target get passed (significantly at times) then the price drops without actually selling at the target. Ultimately the price falls and often hits a stop loss for a loss instead of the desired profit.  Also, what happens is that I have the bot setup with the pair ETH/BTC, it is set to buy .10 ETH at a buy signal (which it does) but then the bot sets the sell signal for only .001296 ETH every time... What is happening? So the ONLY time I get to sell (typically the first roundtrip) it sells for a lesser quantity than the buy. So I get a triple downward issue here... 1.) after the first attempt to sell, it sells only a fraction of the previous buy (this is the amount it sets the sell for every time .001296) - 2.) After the first sell, no other sell target trigger even after they get crossed - 3.) My trades ultimately hit a stop loss and sell for a loss - Which is another issue I have... I have the stop loss set for 1.75% for testing, yet the stop loss sells at a significantly lower point... Last stop loss was almost 3% - I can't seem to get the bot to trade at a profit with these three things working against me. Even in a swing market where it should have no problem turning trades.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello! Another Raspberry Pi user here. I had been considdering purchasing leonArdo but when they announced a Pi version that made my mind up.

I'm using leonArdo on a Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3 (one for Bittrex  and one for Poloniex)

It works remarkably smoothly and as gnoe says, it uses very little power and is silent.

I use VNC for all access to the Pi's - they have a power lead and network cable plugged in and that's all - and VNC works great. VNC also works well on Android for checking how things are going. Configuring a new bot is a bit fiddly but can be done.

The memory usage is approx 35% and the CPU usage is normally 20-30% and my Pi's have been running constantly since 22nd Dec without issue.

Hi! Which distro are you using on your Raspberry Pi?

Hello,
can anyone give any tips on how to use min eff. buy gain in BB? With min eff. sell gain its all clear but I have no idea on how to use another one.

Also any tips on how to set margin maker for automated trading? At the moment I have to make corrections manually all the time if the chart goes up or down.

Cheers

Have you tried lurking around the community slack? Also a few pages back on the thread some were discussing parameters.

In case I bought a second platform license and want to change it,is it possible? I wanted to use Bitfinex but I would rather wait for  binance or Kraken.
BF is a total waste for me now Sad

This is a case by case decision. Depends a little on how long you where you using the license.
Best thing is to talk to [email protected] with the email addr you bought with.

Yeah, if you want to sign up, Bitfinex's terms are very harsh  Shocked Shocked Shocked

PROFESSIONAL PLATFORM
Bitfinex is a platform for professional traders. If you are new to cryptocurrency trading, please consider another, more straightforward platform first and return to Bitfinex later.

MINIMUM ACCOUNT EQUITY
New accounts will not be able to trade or perform any platform function until they reach a minimum account equity of 10,000 USD, achieved by bank wire or by depositing cryptocurrency.

VERIFICATION TIMELINE
If you wish to complete the verification process to gain access to additional features such as fiat deposits and withdrawals, please understand that the verification process is significantly backlogged. New verification requests are taking 6-8 weeks to complete.

INACTIVITY FEE
Bitfinex is not a wallet service. If you are not participating in Bitfinex markets, please withdraw your funds from the platform. In the future, users who hold balances in their Bitfinex account but do not participate in markets may be charged a small inactivity fee.

Hello, can somebody tell me why the bot sold below the buy price? I thought the "min. eff. gain" should prevent this:

Nice! Raspi Check looks useful for checking your Pi's status!

If you are using Poloniex or Bittrex exchanges (and have an Android device), I find these apps useful for tracking my wallet balance (it shows a total amount of all coins in BTC and Fiat currencies). It can also give notifications when the amount of a coin changes in your wallet i.e. when leonArdo is buying and selling

Thanks for your suggestions mate.
I just downloaded VNC android version and it's super like the windows one.

I'm testing now another little raspi app found on google play, with many useful functions & info for my setup like temps, load, mem use, reboot etc
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.eidottermihi.raspicheck&hl=en
It needs ssh enabled to connect.

Very satisfied with my new Raspberry.
Wasn't expecting such performance from this little beast with just 1 GB ram.

Tried Ubuntu mate first but was eating up almost half of total memory.
Rasbian is tailor made by the team and uses much less memory, it's faster and more efficient.

I left the best last.
It only consumes 2-2.5 watts with leoNardo running along with VNC. That's crazy. I see the numbers on the power meter and can't believe it.
My other 6-core/8 GB ram pc consumed above 70 watts, doing the same job.

Best choice for 24/7 use. Grin

Wow, cool! Thanks for sharing! How is the user interface performance on the Raspberry through VNC? Is it responsive, can you use the chart features without lags? Considering buying a Raspberry myself...

Yes, very fast and responsive so far. It's faster than my other Lubuntu desktop pc using teamviewer.
Although I have it with 2 heatsinks installed (no fan), I'll be checking temps for the next days.

Chart in link below is ETH/BTC with 15 minute candles. Effective minimum gain buy price was set at 0.5% in the BB bot strategy. The last Sell is between the two blue buy threshold and minimum gain buy price text boxes.
The Minimum effective gain buy variable is preventing the next buy unless in is 0.5% BELOW the last sell price, regardless of where the Current Buy Threshold is for the BB bot. As you can see this may have caused the bot to miss at least one trade of minimal profit. Net result may be fewer trades but hopefully more profitable trades.
I'm learning this as I go just like the rest of us and while I use the Minimum effective buy price variable I plan on watching its behavior relative to the pair being traded. I may reduce my use of this variable if I think it is choking off too many trades.

https://ibb.co/gNEnxR

Edit:
In reviewing this setup I have decided to disable the "Min eff. buy gain(%)" variable as I believe ETH/BTC is in an up trend. That variable might prevent too many buys in such a trend, limiting profit potential.
