Is Mark Karpeles still in Japan or he moved to a more secluded country?   Cool

To be honest with the amount of people with questions and many people after him I doubt he is safe anywhere until he can give solid proof he had nothing to do with the hacking and loss of coins. No doubt that he is somewhere in the world waiting for all this to settle down and for him to spend everyone else's coins.

How do we know that is even him? The picture is low res and 1000 different people look like that.

I think it's him..... he was always wearing T-shirts, even going into the office just after loosing 750,000BTC he happily strolls in wearing a t-shirt clutching his coffee, f*cking wanker.....

[frappucino photo redacted]

I may have the chronology wrong, but I believe that photo was snapped before the big implosion. Rather, I think it was when withdrawals were merely 'problematic'. Granted, the bitcoins may have already been gone, but the world at large did not yet know this.

i thought it was when they suspended customers ability to do anything, i was(luckily) never effected so my timeline of events is a bit vague.
Either way we have the esteemed Mr K. casually strolling into his bitcoin bank , wearing a t-shirt holding his coffee frappucino, knowing fine well things were not all so well and good in the banks books, regardless if the public had been told yet, he knew..... oh and he was wearing a t-shirt  Roll Eyes

How does he still have money?

He stole 800k bitcoins, and he's been selling thousands of them for at least half a year.

If thats true how can he sleep at night?

how can Josh Homo Garza sleep at night? these people are not "normal" people. thats the reason.
^^ This about sums it up.

strange thing is, bitcoin was meant to save us from trusting third part big bankster types, yet here we are 5 years on and people are still getting goxed.

It just shows how twitch tv has no integrity.  I remember actually watching good players stream on there originally.
Look at the people they let stream now.  Every other video is an average girl who is the lowest rank possible, yet twitch promotes them as gamers.

People are taking legal action. That is a slow process, sure, but what is your alternative?
paying the debtor a visit in person usually works in my experience

He is rich enough to disappear, wouldnt surprise me if someone does this in the future but nobody knows the exact truth yet.

And then you do what? Break his legs, when he don't pay?
We live in the real world not in a Hollywood movie.

Even taking legal action against mtgox I  highly doubt much is going to happen. If the company finally going to bail and go bankrupt as the legal court release said that they are going to file for bankruptcy then how is anyone to actually file a claim against a company that has zero assets left to distribute across all its customers.  Plus the Chinese police claiming it was an inside job maybe something will come to light and the coins are magically found again and a recovery process starts to happen. Only time will tell with gox

A scammer/thief believes that because he was smart enough or skilled enough,
he is thereby entitled to the money.  Concerns for others, "fairness", or "ethics"
are a distant second, if considered at all.

Or, if the person has some sense of ethics, perhaps they feel a
small tinge of guilt, but their greed forces them to repress it.
