It would be strange if they did not. All social networks have some kind of paid privileges and this is a good chance for a cryptocurrency to be realized. It's no secret that the majority of the population use social networks. It would be a good influx of users into the world of cryptocurrency.  Roll Eyes

It is really exciting that the CEO of the world's largest social media giant talks about the blockchain. Yeah, there's been a lot of rumors about it in recent months. But my guess is, the money they will create is going to be a digital money, not a crypto money.

As far as I remember today, this guy has been talking about this for a long time. Let's see what he can really think of, because he has long promised to do something very valuable. We will see in the future what he offers.

Not many people are aware of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, yes they have heard about this but do not know how it actually works and they have billions of people to educate about facebook coin if ever they will launch one, so it is still on the process with no concrete evidence that they are going to launch one.

It only seems obvious that Facebook will develop its own blockchain based digital currency/ies to complement their Whatsapp and Facebook apps. I think Mark Zuckerberg and co will make this update simply to make it easier to secure data.

he can develop its own digital currency but as far as i have knowledge of it he has to make more secure first then dig into this category/field.

This news has been a rumor is previous year, 2018. But as far as I know there is no official statement about it. If this will happen it will create a huge impact on crypto community given facebook is well-known world wide. There's a rumor that's why they banning people promoting cryptocurrency but I think not all because I see some sponsored crypto ads from them last year. A big move in crypto world maybe will trigger all of this like "Bitcoin ETF is approve".

It seems like the FB founder has nothing but positive things to say about blockchain technology.

There are rumours going around that he will release a cryptocurrency for use on WhatsApp, but given the privacy and censorship concerns over FB, I can't see many people going for it.

Yup and I believe that this giant companies will have to adopt in blockchain technology. If they didn't adopt blockchain technology, their competitors will be likely to succeed in the long run. And I've heard rumors that FB is recruiting more blockchain developers.
They have a plan to adopt it but not sure about to adopt it very soon. That rumor can't be trusted if there was no any clarification from the facebook itself. As far as i know that facebook only stated if they are interested to adopt blockchain but not sure if they have the mode plan regarding it.

That is a good signal.
I hope not only Mark but also many of the technology giants are interested in the blockchain. That will help crypto a lot.

I think FB should make whatsapp look like wechat, using blockchain technology, and make its own cryptocurrency, that would be cool.

This is one of the first few steps towards cryptocurrency adoption. I am happy that Mark Zuckerberg has good things to say about the blockchain. It will definitely affect how investors view the technology and crypto in general

It is very useful for crypto awareness that Mark has positive view of BTC, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology. His opinion is well appreciated worldwide and it is good news to have him among the supporters. There are rumors about the face coin but whatever Facebook does with blockchain technology it will be huge, and will effect the market space for sure as they have billions of potential user base.

I think the blockchain technology is a better option for a social network as large as Facebook,if Mark Zuckerberg could eventually accepts to be part of this innovative technology it will be a welcome development for the cryptocurrency community at large and the Facebook community in particular, there is no smoke without fire.

Dude, the average person is not your average crypto enthusiast. If that were the case Steemit would be more popular than Facebook. If FB push a coin to the masses it could easily overtake the entire crypto market combined.

When Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook, Pavel Durov copied it technologies and created a social network, Vkontakte. Now, many years later, Pavel Durov spent his ICO created the coin TON, the idea of the telegram project with the ability to transfer cryptocurrencies to each other in the simplest way, now I see that Mark Zuckerberg creates the same). One question, are these two guys copying each other's work???)))

Mark Zuckerberg is sitting on an empire that was built on invasion of privacy. It is a fact that Facebook are one of the largest resources of information to the US Government.  Roll Eyes Mark Zuckerberg will definitely not use a technology like Bitcoin that gives people pseudo-anonymity.

You can expect a centralized controlled Crypto currency based on the Blockchain technology to be released soon and this technology will be controlled by Facebook.

This is bad news for Bitcoin when giants like this invest in their own private Blockchain technologies.  Tongue
