What seems so odd to me is the amount of effort put into convincing everyone here that he is a fraud.
The guy was saying for years that there was a major turning point and the DOW made a high on that date then fluttered around and dumped 25% almost overnight. All majors went limit down within 1 minute of the market opening today?
Was he wrong? You bet he was fucking wrong. He was saying we would get a downward move after the turning point but that it would only be a minor correction.
So fraud or not he is on to something big.

Armstrong's main work is the Economic Confidence Model (ECM).
In the last years he stated numerous times that he thought that the world economy would decline into the 2020 ECM Date. Only in the last months before the 2020 ECM Date he changed tunes to: "If it's going to be a high, we will go lower and vice versa". So that means that Armstrong has been interpreting his own model wrong for years.
Then the 2020 ECM Date came. He actually didn't know what the turning point would mark. He was talking about Syria, Libya, Russian constitution, impeachment, interest rates, the Dow and what not. Again Armstrong didn't only interpret his model wrong, he didn't know what it would mark.
First, it seemed like the stock market high marked the 2020 ECM Date, which then Armstrong touted on the blog. Then everybody who got short got burned because all major indices were making new highs in February. Again, major confusion.
Isn't it strange that the inventor of a model, who calls himself the Forecaster, can't interpret his own model? Logically makes it very hard for some people to trust somebody like that. And Armstrong just brushes everything off like it's nothing, while his readers are making wrong investment decisions on his comments for years.

I am so glad I happened on to this blog. I have been trying to figure out this guy's ramblings for far too long. I got sucked in by the Forecaster movie - that's a compelling story. I subscribed to his website and analyzed his posts (no easy feat) for the past year. I began to notice what appeared to be revisions in his historical posts to align with reality. I began to screen print his advice/predictions (no way to print otherwise) so I could compare. Yep - proved that. Have cancelled subscription.

Yes .I agree . sometimes Martin is wrong on his timing .but his gold price high in Jan 2020 is correct in a way .he say gold will correct to 1362 or 1450 .that is correct .I use his figures to calculate market highs and lows .not so much to trade ,but for long term investing in stock and bonds and precious metals. Anyone trading the ecm will have been knocked out with a huge loss and would have had second thoughts about re-entering using this so more than likely missed the move. As you will see on these boards, many marty lovers come and go and never post anything of substance let alone a trading performance using this thing that doesn't work. You also won't see any performance posted from marty either as its not possible with the losses he must take and thats even if he is allowed to trade.......worth thinking about maybe.....
