Difficulty 4.4 on CPU mining?
I really doubt there are 700 core i5 mining this... someone already has GPUs on this, I'm guessing devs had the GPU miner ready before release.

Well, the algo is based on sphlib, so someone with experience in gpu miners can write their own GPU miner for sure.
Why should we GPU mine already if we had the opportunity to simply pre-mine the coin and/or set the block reward for the first coins much higher than the ones after ? :-)
Everyone who started mining this coin noticed we started at Block 1 and diff rose slowly..
It is possible that someone is already gpu mining and not sharing his miner, thats true, we are not.

Does the x64 cpu miner work with solo mining ?
Also, performances seems pretty low : 4 times lower than X11 (i know it has two additionnal algos but..)

Not sure, but you can try to point it at your wallet by using something like:
minerd -a x13 -u rpcuser -p rpcpassword -u http://127.0.0.1:7745
Performance for CPU miners is ok, but can surely be optimized a bit, we expect more benefit from/with GPU miners.
