Guys: check out this Mastercoin price charts page somebody made: http://www.mastercoin.it/#

I can't figure out where their data is coming from though . . .

Their frequent fluctuations are probably from a Bitcoin/USD feed, which is continually adjusting the price from the most recent MSC/BTC trade. The MSC/BTC trades aren't happening nearly as frequently as one might assume watching the chart.

WTB: Any reputable users selling .5BTC worth of MSC?
Yeah, I hear buymastercoin.com has a good reputation.  If you want something ultra secure, you can buy from then.  Also, it is very convenient.  You might have to pay a tad bit more, but with those value added services, I think you'll be very happy with your purchase.  .5 BTC? - that should get you a small fraction of one Mastercoin.

lol true.  But at buymastercoins they offer security and convenience - so you've always got that value added to look forward to.  I wouldn't want to be inconvenienced using other systems.  Sometimes paying more for security just make me feel good.

Paying 250% above market price is a steal when you factor in the unmatchable convenience and security they provide.

Nice to see 0.33btc/msc price being bought on masterxchange.
What?  is this a real transaction?  Someone paid .33?  Why didn't they buy from all the .2 sellers on the other exchanges?

Even @ .33 it's still a lot cheaper then buymastercoins.

Yes, this is a real transaction. The market is really illiquid however so it does not mean much.

Please stop quoting trolls!
What's your contribution you fucking moron?

Do my comments about encouraging the guy to keep working despite his earlier difficulties seem like trolling to you?  Do you understand what 'trolling' means?  You follow my every comment and write 'troll' after it.  Yet you claim that I am on 'ignore'. What is your point?  Did you find out I was sleeping with your girlfriend? Again?

If we had 100 more guys like you with energy and good attitude - and each started building a very cool tool - there'd still be 9,900 more things to be built.  There are loads of things to make.  Don't get discouraged that you managed to stir nothing but backlash in the beginning.  That just made you WAY smarter for your next project.  Now, quit fucking around on the internet and get back to work.

Can't you please go work on one of these?  The community loves your participation - but you'll be slaughtered in an instant if you prove your system is valuable before announcing how much money you'll be taking from people.

I suppose you meant it the other way Wink
Ooops - of course.  Just insert a " - " sign in there somewhere.

But this is the line you should focus on...
But there are still 10,000 cool Mastercoin things which need to be built

There is a bounty for an exchange, which we did not even get. We did all this work without touching one of the numerous bounties.
You did 'all this work' - because you see a profit from fees.  And here you speak as if you did it from an altruistic point of view.  WTF?  If you fee based business model doesn't pan out, you aren't going to get credit for 'helping' us out.  Your exorbitant fee model wasn't found to be appealing to users.  That is all.

Exactly. I meant that since we were not awarded a bounty, it felt legitimate to reward ourselves with fee.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Maybe we were completly inexperienced in setting up fees, we corrected that in 48h. We worked very very hard for weeks putting our experience and our sweat in this project.
Glad you did this.  But I hope next thing you will build finds a far better result.  I'd recommend that you build something which doesn't have a clear replacement on the horizon - like the DEx.  Building something which is sure to be obsolete in a few weeks is a good route to failure if you ask me.

Now if you still feel we are asshole money grabber, fine. I am not gonna argue more than that, but at least I would have tried once.
Nobody thinks you are an asshole money grabber - you just fucked up.  No big deal.  I've done that before.  Just use the lessons learned and go forward.  I'll bet every project you do from now on will be focus on providing a great service - before you announce high fees.

The DEx is going to be cool.  But there are still 10,000 cool Mastercoin things which need to be built in addition to the DEx.  Can't you please go work on one of these?  The community loves your participation - but you'll be slaughtered in an instant if you prove your system is valuable before announcing how much money you'll be taking from people.

Learn, live. Move on.  Please find another cool thing to spend your efforts on until everyone in Mastercoin is begging you to take their money.

Hello professor handsome.

We discovered mastercoins 4 weeks ago, fell in love with the concept decided to do something with it and try to participate in the community. We saw a need for an exchange that only felt logical to fill.

The trading volume on mastercoin right now is almost non existent, either on our exchange or outside of it. Still, we'll now offer a fee that is only slighty higher than mtgox or other exchanges, for a currency where we do not have any competitor in the space, but for a volume almost non existent.

There is a bounty for an exchange, which we did not even get. We did all this work without touching one of the numerous bounties.

On top of that, the main feature that will be developed is a distributed exchange which if working as expected, will almost be the end of our business.

There is no official client, so we risk missing a transaction at any time or having a bug on the transaction. We were sick to see the users comments and tried to do our best to answer them.

And we'll keep doing that.

Maybe we were completly inexperienced in setting up fees, we corrected that in 48h. We worked very very hard for weeks putting our experience and our sweat in this project.

Now if you still feel we are asshole money grabber, fine. I am not gonna argue more than that, but at least I would have tried once.

I can't figure out where their data is coming from though . . .
Look closely at the data - you will be able to tell instantly that they are pulling it out of their ass.  The purported resolution is far higher than the volume of sales.  But it is a very cool model which will be wonderful once the actual market becomes more active.  I think they did an excellent job.  Not to be critical about dry labbing the data to get started.
