The timing for the re-branding is right, now that they have completed the modernization of their site, over the last few months, going from URL-based secrets to registered accounts with optional 2-FA.
But more importantly, many old articles referred to the SatoshiDice on-chain game which has been disabled for years. Users still got confused by it.

Good choices, all in all.

Bring the leader board back and the site will outshine SatoshiDice in its best days.

In the future, consider a 2nd currency with lower TX cost, like Ethereum or Litecoin, if the latter ever switches to SegWit and Lightning transactoins.
This will allow newbies to play with smaller amounts. Bitcoin TX fees are too high atm.

Yeah but you do realize that Satoshidice was created by Erik Voorhees. Who is pretty much the pioneer of Bitcoin. The name really means more than the site itself. And re-branding is really not always a good thing. It would of been ok for some other smaller tier type of dice site but not for Satoshidice.

This site if I recall correctly was sold for like 120K BTC, which around the time was $11-12 million or so. Most of the value was in the name.
They paid $12 million for this name and now they do not use it anymore! This means that they destroyed this brand!

Based on this, I have one question to the community: If they destroyed a $12 million name, how successful will they be with their new "mega" name?
If the current owner paid that much to buy the site then he is able to run successfully the new brand because he have the money for to advertise their site over everywhere which is the main tool for giving success to any business. The other sites which do not get success are poor people they just start their casino and are not able to advertise or if they advertise they just advertise for a few weeks or a month or two so fail while sites which advertise like crypto games for years people often remember their name and whenever they want to gamble they visit there. So it is better that they advertise their site as much as possible.

It is  weird to see satoshidice as a new brand. I mean it was the oldest dice website in the world and now its gone. Not that its bad for you guys since you are rebranding and all but at least you could have used the old name.

Now there is this whole PR and marketing that goes to toilet. SEO wise it was not a great decision neither. I think it should have stayed with the name.
Re-branding is not a bad thing but a better idea to give a new name to their company and if they will in a position to do a good marketing for their company on different places like crypto-games, secondstrade and some other casino is doing their best then everyone will know their name and will keep their name in mind. they have to establish their name in this forum.

glad to see Satoshidice is back in the business, wonder if it was really neccessary to rebrand
after all it was one of the oldest dice games (if not the oldest) in bitcoin history
when I re-registered ,as I could not find my old credentials, and tried to play some dice
I realised that there is no autobet option available, correct me if I'm wrong but I could not find it
no successful dice site can survive without autobet, imho

I think one of the main reasons why it rebranded was because for the last year or so there was alot of FUD created with Satoshidice due to all the network issues they were having. Most of the older gamblers moved on to other sites like PD, and most of the newer gamblers were upset and boycotted the brand completely.

So I guess they want to start off fresh with a new website and everything. Hopefully this site won't have the same issues as the last one however.

Why did satoshidice rebrand?
Does my old account still work?
What happened to my bitcoin stored on satoshidice?

Edit:
Seems I can log in on my old account. I used the wrong credentials at first, but it seems the whole account is now at the new site and works as expected.

I just discovered this thread after I tried searching for the old Satoshdice thread, found it closed, and it linked into here.

The new site seems very promising however I think it was very bad to rebrand to this name. Satoshidice had a bitcoin history, and not very smart to change its name.

But good luck to you and to the best of your new site.

Is this the same company that originally bought Satoshi Dice off Erik Vorhees?

I want to invest but scared nothing has been fixed since Satoshi Dice?

Many things have been fixed or added.

  • 2FA protect your account
  • Email confirmation required for withdrawals, protecting your account from unauthorised withdrawals.
  • 26 New High Quality Games added
  • Live support
  • Overall faster and more stable experience.
- 2FA always good addition for those who want to activate and use it

- instead of email confirmation of every withdrawal I would rather like to see something like master address added to may account,
Master Address might the address which was used to deposit BTC before or verified brand new address,
then email confirmation would be used only in case we would like to change that master address.

- about faster and more stable experience - is it only me or site is loading slow and repressiveness is, well, not that crisp I would like it to be.
I will test it later on different system to see if that is my machine working slow.

Looks like a nice site to me, especially because I love dice games. Considering the fact that the minimum amount that can be invested can be as low as 0.001 BTC you guys might attract a lot of investors who don't want to risk big amounts. Are you going to launch a Sig campaign to bring players to your site? Because right now, as I can see, there are not much players online there.

Signature campaign is not the only way to bring players, there are many other ways such as giveaway, contests, etc and I think those are better than sign campaign. Of course it is their own decision on which way they will use to advertise the site.

Signature campaign is coming. Also live dealer games, chat and other things.
