If it were as simple as Ver paying an army of shills then surely there would be lots of people posting pro-BCH propaganda but in reality are there many fake accounts or many paid shills promoting BCH on social media?

This must be the effect of the twitter hack they had few weeks or months ago. The shameless BCash shill whoever it is that made the tweet. 🤪
Roger Ver must be paying bag of cash to pump his shitcoin!
Sure he is.
Now that his developer Amaury Sechet left him to create his better Bcash coin, Roger became more active on this front.
Even if he didn't do it personally, someone from his circle did it for sure.

I don't know if anyone notice but Tim Draper twitter account was hacked and started shilling Bcash crap.
It would not be impossible that Roger paid someone to hack him for temporary pump of BCash.

People will decide what is real Bitcoin and what is real Bcash Roger, not you.

Quote
According to Coin.Dance, BCHN’s 126 nodes represent exactly 10% of the Bitcoin Cash network’s 1,260 total nodes, while Bitcoin ABC represents 42% of the network with 533.
However, the Bitcoin Unlimited (BU) implementation (that expands on the Bitcoin XT protocol) is also opposed to the coinbase rule and currently has the largest single share with 565 nodes or 44%. If it throws its lot in with BCHN, that would result in a slim majority of 54% of BCHN nodes rejecting the November upgrade — and potentially retaining the Bitcoin Cash brand.

While I was reading this paragraph I was making a mental note to not even try to understand who is who and what in this  Grin , I have a feeling you won't find a soul who would get a pass during the rapture there. They've lost satoshi's true vision, lol, now they are fighting for whatever is left there, a coin that has nothing other than the name of bitcoin in it.

Too bad this jump in price helped also these shitcoins survive, I can't wait for karma to make it's move, payback for the fee attack in 2018, pretty soon just 1% of BTC hash rate would be able to send this crap to where it belongs.

In that case you are right, he has his doppelgänger coin listed on many exchanges and he has various media outlets trying to support his narrative so in that case yes he may have won but Bitcoin Cash will never replace Bitcoin.

Well the war is over, it was over a long time ago

He already have won. He has a lot of coins on both chains. His coin is listed on many major exchanges and he has many strong media channels to support his narrative.

What you don't understand is, Ver has created an alternate universe. In that universe he is still the Bitcoin Jesus and his product BCH is the real bitcoin and anybody who doesn't believe that are infidels. And there are many people knowingly or not-knowingly pushing this.

His universe is tiny and getting smaller so it appears to be working as intended. Forks are part of the blockchain concept, even scammy ones sadly. There is a bunch of them, and arguably most shitcoins are forks one way or another.

It is funny how Roger is using word fork only when he wants.
His post on Reddit is so close to being self aware:

ABC has minority hash rate.
ABC has minority price on the futures markets.
ABC is the one making a MAJOR change.
ABC is the one forking away.
Just replace ABC with BCash.

It is funny how Roger is using word fork only when he wants.
When he forked Bitcoin to BCash he refused to call it a fork, but said Bcash is the real Bitcoin.
Now when people are forking his Bcash, he is calling it a fork and free airdrop:

In the end there will never ever be a central authority that'll decide who is right in this and there shouldn't be.
I agree there shouldn't be, but there also doesn't need to be. The community have decided:

BCH's price is currently 2.4% of bitcoin's price.
BCH's hashrate is currently 2.2% of bitcoin's hashrate.
BCH's daily transaction value in terms of USD is <1% of bitcoin's.

His coin is listed on many major exchanges and he has many strong media channels to support his narrative.
A lot of shitcoins are listed on a lot of major exchanges, and the majority of the media channels which support him are owned by him. Much like CSW, he has enough wealth to bankroll his own superiority complex, but that does not mean anything he says is true.

However if someone actually got sold BCH as BTC they should definitely sue Ver.

Why would anybody sue Ver, spend their precious time and money even though they already know that Ver's going to dodge it like a pro?

It doesn't make sense at all.

What you don't understand is, Ver has created an alternate universe. In that universe he is still the Bitcoin Jesus and his product BCH is the real bitcoin and anybody who doesn't believe that are infidels. And there are many people knowingly or not-knowingly pushing this.

In our universe, BTC is the real shit.

In the end there will never ever be a central authority that'll decide who is right in this and there shouldn't be.

Actually I am glad they doing this because it is the only way to test bitcoin's strength. So far, I did't like what I see. It turns out if you acquire enough media power you can re-write the history and create your own cult and it is impossible to get punished for doing this.

No media power in the world is enough to brainwash countries as whole and make them believe that copper is the real gold. If a person genuiely starts to believe that his copper is gold and try to peddle them to people, it is jail time for him. Again, it won't work like this with crypto.

Most people are too stupid to make their own research and they may believe whatever Roger says. These people need help from the central authority that'll teach them what's right and what's wrong.

Well the war is over, it was over a long time ago maybe just as it started it ended because apart from a short-lived flourish the price of BCH declined and is never going to replace Bitcoin.

Instead of taking sides those that remain neutral will simply see Bitcoin as Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash as Bitcoin Cash - two different options for transactions as well as thousands of alts and tokens out there but I like the way you mentioned nobody can pull this sort of thing on gold or silver  Grin

If Roger was selling copper coins that are being advertised as gold coins, he would be in jail (again).

(Scamming people with fake gold coins is a serious crime)

Then how can he get away with this?

Because in the world of crypto, nothing is official. In the world of Roger and his followers, BCH is the real bitcoin...

That's also the reason why bitcoin will be never recognized officially as a currency by many countries and will be seen as play money. If the governments start to acknowledge bitcoin, then they would be taking sides in this war. Some countries may find Roger's offers more appealing and they may decide to acknowledge BCH as the real bitcoin too and that wouldl create a mess.

Nobody can pull that kind of retarded shit on Gold or Silver thankfully

It is not really that hard. If somebody gives me  a kilo, I am pretty sure I can verify it by myself.

Awesome, more people like you would mean less need to rely on the government to jail sellers of fake gold. The great thing about bitcoin is that you don't need to carry bottles of acid to verify transactions.

The point is that you don't need authorities to put someone in jail if that someone can't pass you fake bitcoins. Isn't that the whole point of the blockchain, be your own bank?

According to Roger's fanbase, these are not fake and there is nothing you can do to stop them from acting like the way they do.

I wonder how many times he sold bch as the real bitcoin to the newbies till now. With the media channels like the .com domain and r/btc he has, he will keep doing it for years. If the law enforcement cannot do anything about this, then it means he is allowed to scam. (because according to the law, he is not technically scamming anyone)

My point is that it's trivial to avoid scammers like Ver, at least for people who care enough to educate themselves about it, and you don't need chemistry or government to do that. Prevention always trumps police/arrest/court/jail.

However if someone actually got sold BCH as BTC they should definitely sue Ver.

According to which authority? You?
According to the blockchain. If he says he sent you 1 BTC you can see immediately that he's lying using just e.g. your phone. If he gives you a kilo of gold you probably wouldn't be able to tell if it's real or just a gold plated rock using just your phone.

That's how you identify gold:

It is not really that hard. If somebody gives me  a kilo, I am pretty sure I can verify it by myself.

If his only connection to the world was his btt account here, our job would be easy but guess what... Outside of this forum, nobody cares what he does.

Bitcoin's best selling point and strength is also its biggest weakness.

Quite the opposite. You can't verify gold or silver on the blockchain. It takes a few seconds to verify that Roger Jesus Ver is full of shit.

Nobody can punish him for what he is doing. Crypto is a free scam pass.

That issue with newbies being confused because of the .com and .org domains will always be problematic especially now since Ver has his exchange there.

This is nothing new. I think everyone at least one people getting scammed by Roger. Newbies usually trust dotcom domain than any other extension. As long as Roger has access to bitcoin.com domain, you can expect it to be happened all the times. He is a fraud.
