I didn't say it's an error. I said it's rejected by default, but it is valid (if included in a block). Try broadcasting a transaction that pays 0 sat/vb and see what I mean.

(also, there is a consensus default settings not to broadcast transactions below 1 sats/vbyte.
Anything between 0 and 1 sat/vb is by default rejected, but it is valid (can be included in a block). If you saw a negative fee rate, then that must have been an error by FeeBuddy, as that would create coins out of thin air. (Which is obviously invalid.)

This is not an error.

Coinbase transactions are 0 satvB, and there are some empty blocks.

This is last block coinbase, 0 satvb fee rate.

Negative is wrong, probably it is some error in the scale? I will try to check

Speaking about graphs, I notice a negative value at around 8 August at midnight on the feebuddy charts.
How is it even possible to have a negative value in a graph tracking non negative values (also, there is a consensus default settings not to broadcast transactions below 1 sats/vbyte.

In general, if we would have commitment-based transactions, then every 10 minutes, every mempool will be cleared into zero, no matter how big it would be.
But that's not supposed to happen. The network must remain clogged up most of the time, otherwise there's no block space competition.

I guess 0.01 BTC per block may be sufficient. Because keeping 1 sat/vB means 0.01 BTC per 1 MB. So, rewards in range 0.01-0.04 BTC are guaranteed to happen, if 1 sat/vB limit will never be lowered, and if blocks will be always full.
Even if 1 BTC = $1M, which is plausible in a decade or two, 0.01 BTC is still low. Currently, miners earn about $25M per day. With 0.01 BTC, that's $1.44M for 144 blocks.

1. Adding "tail supply" is not that easy. Each and every overprinted satoshi may be easily burned by those, who care about keeping 21 million coins limit.
Burned how? It's the miner who gets the overprinted bitcoin. Do you mean that nobody will support the fork?
