Ordinals/Rune/Onchain Spam was successful in making us accostumet do a worst unchain experience.
Look on the bright side. Sooner or later, you'd have to come up with reality: On-chain is not designed to be inexpensive indefinitely. On the contrary, it is designed to be expensive. You should take this experience as a warning for what's coming in a few years and plan accordingly. 
The current mempool situation is way below my expectations. I felt that the transaction fee will go high but on the contrary it went below 12 sat/vB. The current transaction fee is hovering around 4 sat/vB which is where it should be. For some, when converted in USD might seem high but it is still better to where it was earlier. I pray that it remains the same and it doesn't go beyond those satoshis.
As I said, before ordinals we were used to 2 sats/vB transactions.
Now we are happy to transact at double that price.

How comes transactions with 5 vbyte fees do not make into the first block?
Maybe it has to do with the absolute size of the transaction?

Or else, it's a question of rounding. In other words, the 5 indicated may not actually be 5, it may be 4.6.
