Many users have been waiting for a year to get their coins back. Some people claim that support doesn't help, others say they have tried and failed to get their coins back.

It is said that even though Mercatox has not updated their wallet, they are still taking deposits in Dogecoin and continue to process withdrawals of other cryptocurrencies. Members have created tickets that have been open for months with no response. No timeline was given for when they might resolve this issue.

If there is another exchange trading Dogecoin and accepting withdrawals from Mercatox then I would recommend moving your assets there until this is resolved. But other than that, there's not much else you can do other than wait for them to fix the problem.

Dont know on why you do consider up on using this platform despite all of those issues.

Either:

a) OP is using them for a long and just got a problem recently
b) The only exchange that listed OP's preferred coin (prior trading DOGE)

Moving forward, there are good and bad experiences that users deal with in that exchange. To OP, if DOGE withdrawals are not that priority, trading it to other assets can be considered. If still not working and all other wallets are also disabled, then it's now suspicious. It's impossible to have that kind of account setup.

They disabled withdrawals for doge, and have been 'working' on it for a year.

Any advice on how to attempt to get my funds back?

I would trade them for any other crypto that is withdrawable at the moment and withdraw out of that exchange fast. Mercatox is always doing that at different times, preventing investors from withdrawing their crypto assets. I have stopped using the exchange for a long time when there is another better option.

Mercatox is not a scam exchange. I deposited a token in this exchange 2 years ago. I put a sale order because the price of the token dropped and I forgot about it because it didn't sell for a long time. Then a few days ago I suddenly logged in to this exchange and saw that I have $450 BTC in my account. I have withdrawn my BTC without any problem. If you cannot withdraw Dogecoin, you can withdraw it by converting it to another coin.

as long as the Mercatox market disables notifications or automatic exchanges, it cannot return because everything is at risk, and moreover we will look for the team at Mercatox itself, it will not be returned because it has become a risk..

Why don't you trade Doge to another asset that can be withdrawn out?
I think the decision makes a lot of sense and makes your problem a lot simpler than accusing a market of a scam or not.
But based on my experience, Mercatox is indeed a sketchy market, so be careful of them, for myself, I wouldn't trade there if I didn't have to.

The possible things is to exchange it for another coin with cheap withdrawal fees as suggested by other members , 1 year is a long time so don't wait until they reopen withdrawals with doge. And as far as I know this is the same problem that other exchanges are facing.
There should be no need to worry about your doge funds undergoing long maintenance, just swap doge to other coins that are recommended by many people, for me other coins are normal enough to be withdrawn and only recently doge often have maintenance problems.

I don't really know about the Mercatox exchange whether the support there responds quickly enough or not at least there is still a solution to withdraw the OP's funds.

did you not get notified beforehand? if not then this is one of mercatox's unprofessionalism. I have never used Mercatox but there must be another Doge pair and you can exchange your Doge with another token and then withdraw your assets.

Why only focusing on DOGE when Mercatox is supporting many coins in their exchange.
One thing more is that, disabling withdrawals of coins isn't enough to say that an exchange is a scam. I tried trading and withdrawing funds from Mercatox and in my experience, there is nothing wrong with the exchange. Its just that the UI is bad for me and the volume of some coins out there is close to zero.

Well, the only thing that you can do is to contact their customer support. I don't know if their CS responds fast Cheesy.

I also use changelly.com
https://changelly.com/how-it-works
My first trade with this exchange is very smooth and lesser hassle too.
The second one? I didn't get anything. I tried to exchange my coins into another one and both of them are supported by it. Tried to contact their customer support, filed a ticket and they responded once. The ending? I didn't got the coins that I want and at the same time, they didn't refund me so they got my coins. After what happened, I will not use it again.

I didn't know they were still in operation. They had a huge Nano (then Raiblocks) hack back in the day and I thought that was the end of the exchange. Once a bad exchange, always a bad exchange. Stay away, stick to reputable exchanges or at the very least pay a little extra and use a DEX.

1 year is a long time, if you don't mind you can attach a screenshot to us, it's been a long time I didn't trade on that exchange, last was in 2018 and then I had no problems.
other times, use a trusted exchange and make sure you withdraw some of your coins then if the transaction is successful you can change to withdraw all of them.

My advice, contact the customer support of the exchange and use the withdrawal receipt to make the process easier, if there is no resolution, I think you can contact the team via dm to resolve this issue.

I used to be using this relatively small exchange to trade coins which I got in the bounties way back years ago and I already heard many complaints about it...in fact I am categorizing this exchange together with HitBTC which also got many issues unresolved from their users. And so in 2020 and 2021 just to be safe I stopped using Mercatox since we already have much better, more recognized and more user-friendly exchanges around. When an exchange is not behaving well, we can be at their mercy, indeed!

Exchange your assets to another, I've also made withdrawals on Mercatox several times and it's safe using TRX

Try to convert your Dogecoin to another cryptocurrency just like TRX/XRP/Litecoin or anything that got a very cheap withdrawal fee just to transfer your funds to another exchange, once you already transferred, you can buy back your desired cryptocurrency.
Maybe they messed up internally on dogecoin related of their system, that could be the reason why they disabled their withdrawal on particular cryptocurrency.
